Women's Basketball Faces St. Bonaventure Sunday On National Television

The Flyers And Bonnies Tip-Off At 12 p.m. On CBS Sports Network

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team continues the home stand with St. Bonaventure Sunday, Jan. 28 at 12 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton play its second-straight game at UD Arena Sunday and enters the weekend with an 8-11 record overall and 2-6 Atlantic 10 mark. The Flyers are 5-4 at home this season.

Williams-Jeter is in her second season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.

The Flyers are averaging 64.9 points per game and giving up 70.2 points to opponents. Dayton is shooting 40.9 percent overall, 30.1 percent from three point range, and 72.5 percent from the free throw line. UD is one of the top rebounding teams in the league with a +8.5 margin.

Leading the way for the Flyers is junior Ivy Wolf with 12.2 points and 3.6 assists per game while junior Arianna Smith is averaging a double-double with 10.4 points and 10.9 rebounds each outing.

SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
St. Bonaventure will look to end its seven-game losing skid and sits at 1-10 away from home this season. The Bonnies are 4-15 overall and 1-7 in conference play.

Head coach Jim Crowley returns to St. Bonaventure after seven seasons at Providence and was the 2012 ESPN.com National Coach of the Year while with the Bonnies.

As a team, SBU is averaging 57.7 points each outing and allowing 67.5 points to opposing squads. The Bonnies are shooting 38.8 percent from the field, 29.9 percent from behind the arc, and 70.5 percent from the charity stripe.

Leading the way for St. Bonaventure is Dani Haskell with 12.7 points each contest while Nadechka Laccen is contributing 10.5 points and 5.2 boards and Isabellah Middleton is adding 10.4 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY
The Flyers and Bonnies have played 32 times previously with Dayton holding a 21-11 series advantage. SBU won last year's meeting in Olean by one point, 54-53. Prior to that, UD had won seven straight.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton fell to VCU 73-62 on School Day this Wednesday in front of a record crowd of 12,097. The Flyers stormed back to cut the 16-point margin to five in the second half, but were unable to complete the comeback.

St. Bonaventure suffered a 65-40 defeat at the hands of Saint Joseph's Wednesday evening at home after scoring just 14 points in the first half. The Bonnies had one double-digit scorer in Isabellah Middleton.

LEADING THE CONFERENCE
Junior Arianna Smith currently leads the A-10 in offensive rebounds, rebounds per game, total rebounds, and double doubles. She ranks sixth in the country in offensive boards, 10th in boards per game, and 12th in total rebounds.

UP NEXT
The Flyers finish up the home stretch with Saint Louis Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at UD Arena.

DOUBLING-UP
Junior Arianna Smith has already recorded nine double-doubles this season and is averaging that per game. She posted those against Lindenwood, SIUE, Wichita St., Davidson, Ohio Dominican, Massachusetts, Loyola Chicago, Saint Louis, and Richmond.

RECORD-SETTING DAY
Smith grabbed 21 rebounds in the win over Ohio Dominican on Dec. 17, the fifth-most in a single game in program history. She did so with former Dayton rebounding legend JaVonna Layfield ('18) in attendance, who has three of the top five performances in school history.

WE'VE GOT AN AUDIENCE
Earlier this season on Jan. 24, the Flyers hosted their annual School Day game and set a new program record for the second consecutive season. Dayton hosted 12,097 fans for its game against VCU which is the 34th biggest single game attendance this season. It is also the most attended non-Power 6 game this year.

QUITE THE CROWD
Along with setting the single-game attendance record in program history this season, Dayton also leads the Atlantic 10 in average home attendance with 3,137 fans per game.
