Women's Basketball Finishes Homestand With Saint Louis Wednesday

The Flyers And Billikens Meet For The Second Time This Season

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team finishes up the three-game, 11-day home stretch when the Flyers host Saint Louis Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at UD Arena.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the week with a 9-11 record overall and 3-6 Atlantic 10 mark. The Flyers are coming off a big home win over St. Bonaventure and will look to improve on their 6-4 mark at UD Arena.

Williams-Jeter is in her second season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.

The Flyers are averaging 64.9 points per game and giving up 68.8 points to opposing teams. Dayton is shooting 41.1 percent overall, 30.6 percent from three point range, and 72.0 percent from the free throw line. The Flyers are one of the top rebounding teams in the league with a +9.2 margin.

Leading the way for the Flyers is junior Ivy Wolf with 12.4 and 3.6 assists per game while redshirt senior Destiny Bohanon is averaging 10.9 points per game. Junior Arianna Smith is averaging a double-double as well with 10.2 points and 11.3 rebounds each outing.

SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS
Saint Louis comes to Dayton with an 8-13 record on the year and 3-5 A-10 mark. The Billikens are 2-6 on the road this season and coming off a tough loss at home to Richmond Sunday.

Head coach Rebecca Tillett is in her second season at Saint Louis after a four-year stint at Longwood University.

As a team, SLU is scoring 71.4 points each contest and allowing 74.8 points to opposing squads. The Billikens are shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 30.1 percent from behind the arc, and 75.7 percent from the charity stripe. Saint Louis benefits from positive rebounding and turnover margins as well.

Leading the way for SLU is all-conference performer Kyla McMakin with 16.4 points per game while Peyton Kennedy is contributing 14.4 points and 4.7 rebounds and Brooklyn Gray is adding 11.3 points each contest.

SERIES HISTORY
The Flyers and Billikens have met 50 times previously with Dayton holding a 36-14 series advantage. Saint Louis has won the last two match-ups however including the contest earlier this season in St. Louis, 74-70.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton powered its way to a 64-43 home victory over St. Bonaventure Sunday on national TV. Anyssa Jones and Ivy Wolf had team-highs of 16 points each while Arianna Smith added seven points and 17 rebounds in the effort.

Saint Louis suffered a 72-61 loss at home to Richmond on Sunday after shooting just 4-of-23 from three and letting the Spiders shoot 53.7 percent overall.

LEADING THE CONFERENCE
Junior Arianna Smith currently leads the A-10 in offensive rebounds, rebounds per game, total rebounds, and double doubles. She ranks sixth in the nation in offensive boards, eighth in rebounds per game, and 12th in total rebounds.
