DAYTON – University of Dayton men's basketball coach
Anthony Grant has announced that two prospects (listed in the order of their commitment date) – Jaron McKie and Damon Friery -- have signed a letter of intent to become a student-athlete at Dayton.
Damon Friery – 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward from Cleveland, Ohio
Friery is a three-star recruit from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland. He helped lead St. Ignatius to the Division I Ohio Division I state championship and a 26-3 overall record in 2023-24.
As a junior, Friery averaged 10.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and was named Special Mention All-Ohio. He had 16 points in the state semifinal win over Delaware Hayes and nine points in the state championship game win over Centerville. Both games were played at UD Arena.
He is ranked as the nation's No. 149 overall prospect, No. 30 power forward and No. 4 overall player in Ohio for 2025, according to 247Sports.com.

Jaron McKie – 6-foot-3, 170-pound guard from Philadelphia, Pa.
A three-star recruit, McKie has been one of the top shooters in Philadelphia the last few years as he led his high school, St. Joseph's Preparatory School, to a 17-6 record and an appearance in the quarterfinal of the state tournament.
McKie earned first team all-conference honors during his junior season as he shot 41.8% from three and lead his team with 18.1 ppg. McKie is the No. 86 ranked guard according to ESPN and is the son of Aaron McKie, the 17th overall NBA draft pick by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1994 and former NBA Sixth man of the Year.

Dayton is 2-0 this season after Saturday's 71-66 win over Northwestern. The Flyers host Ball State tonight at 7 p.m. ET.
