Women’s Basketball Secures 18-Point Victory Over Tennessee State, 76-58

Wolf Leads All Scorers with Season-High 23 Points

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team claimed an 18-point win over visiting Tennessee State Sunday afternoon, paced by senior Ivy Wolf who led all scorers with a season-high 23 points.

Dayton improves to 3-1 on the season while Tennessee Tech moves to 2-3 overall.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 21, Tennessee State 12

• sophomore Ajok Madol got the scoring started for the Flyers, knocking down a three-point basket for Dayton's first field goal of the game
• Madol converted two points off a Tiger turnover with 2:30 left in the first frame to give the Flyers the largest lead of the quarter at 19-8
• freshman Olivia Leung was a near perfect 5-for-6 from the free throw line after drawing four fouls in the first

2nd Quarter: UD 42, TSU 28
• To start off scoring in the second quarter, sophomore Eve Fiala made a layup for her first bucket of the game
• senior Arianna Smith maintained the energy and quickly put the ball in at rim, setting the score at 25-17 in favor of the Flyers
• graduate student Rikki Harris followed up with a buttery three from the top of the key with 4:40 to go
• Lear forced the turnover for a fast break and an effortless layup with 1:06 showing on the clock, putting Dayton up 14

3rd Quarter: UD 57, TSU 38
• Wolf bangs a three within the first minute of the quarter to keep the Flyers' momentum rolling into the third quarter
• freshman Molly O'Riorodon tallied her first points of the game on the assist from Madol at 3:28, pushing the UD lead to 16
• late in the quater, sophomore Eve Fiala grabs the offensive rebound and connects on the put-back at rim with less than a minute to go in the third
• Harris found the bottom of the basket with a wide open jump shot to end the third quarter with Dayton in front, 57-38.

4th Quarter: UD 76, TSU 58
• Harris opened the final frame with a three pointer within the first minute
• sophomore Denika Lightbourne gave UD its largest lead of the game at 27 points with a fast-break layup at 5:37
• senior Shannon Wheeler drove to the basket to put up her first two points with 4:24 to go in the game, making it 71-47
• Wolf scored the final three points of the game, her sixth triple of the contest, with just over 30 seconds to play

KEY STATS
23 - Wolf had 23 points in today's game, topping her previous season high of 22 points
27 - the largest lead for the Flyers in the game was 27 points, 69-42, over the Tigers
10 - Smith led all rebounders with 10 boards, equaling her season high
6 - Harris tallied a season-high six assists and was the second-highest leading scorer for the Flyers with 13 points
