DAYTON – The University of Dayton Women's basketball team took on the Miami Hamilton Harriers at UD Arena on Wednesday night after their regularly scheduled game against Davidson was canceled. The Flyers never trailed on their way to a 112-45 victory.Â

The Flyers (11-15, 5-10 A-10) earn their largest margin of victory this season while Miami-Hamilton (8-9) fall to their first DI opponent of the year.Â

KEY MOMENT
1st Quarter- The Flyers led by 20 at the end of the first quarter and would never trail in the game.
Â
1st Quarter: Dayton 30, Miami Hamilton 10
- Graduate student Mariah Perez got the Flyers on the board first with a mid-range floater 47 seconds into the game.Â
- Senior Anyssa Jones followed it up on the next possession with a jumper to extend the lead to four.Â
- Perez grabbed a rebound and put it right back up for a layup to give the Flyers an 8-3 lead with 7:42 left.Â
- Freshman Eve Fiala got herself on the board with a post finish to extend the Flyer run to 6-0 and the lead to 10-3.Â
- Freshman Riley Rismiller converted a layup for her first bucket of the game to extend the lead to 14-3 with 6:25 left in the quarter. The Flyers have made five of their last seven field goal attempts.Â
- After stealing the inbounds pass, Jones put down a layup for her second basket of the game.
- On the next possession, junior Shannon Wheeler converted her first basket of the game. The Flyers are on a 14-0 run over the last four minutes.Â
- Wheeler would hit four more field goals in the next four minutes to give herself 10 points for the quarter, which leads all scorers.Â
- Freshman Denika Lightbourne finished off a fastbreak layup as time expired in the first quarter to get herself in the scoring column.Â
2nd Quarter: Dayton 63, Miami Hamilton 32
- Junior Ivy Wolf got the Flyers off to a hot start in the second quarter, knocking down a three for her first points of the game.Â
- After a three from the Harriers, Wolf would respond with her second consecutive three to extend the Dayton lead to 36-14.
- Senior Taisiya Kozlova knocked down a three from the top of the key to score her first points of the game with 7:39 remaining. She followed it up on the next possession with her second consecutive three from the same spot. The Flyers lead 44-18.
- Jones swiped an inbound pass and took it straight to the hoop to extend the lead even further.Â
- After a stretch that saw the Harriers hit five of seven field goal attempts, Jones converted a layup to extend the lead to 52-27 with 2:35 left in the half. Miami Hamilton would respond with a three but Wolf and Rismiller knocked down back-to-back threes of their own to push the lead to 58-32. Â
- A three from Jones in the closing seconds of the half saw the Flyers take a 31-point lead into the break. They finished the half on an 8-0 run.Â
3rd Quarter: Dayton 91, Miami Hamilton 35
- The Flyers started the second half with four unanswered points, two from Fiala at the free throw line and two via a Jones jumper.Â
- Redshirt senior Destiny Bohanon knocked down a three to give the Flyers a 70-33 lead with 8:21 left in the quarter.Â
- After going two and a half minutes without a field goal, the Flyers would get two in quick succession with steals turning into fast break layups from sophomore Nayo Lear and Lightbourne.Â
- Sophomore Eleanor Monyek got herself in the scoring column by knocking down a corner three to extend the Flyer lead to 79-35 with 4:47 left to play. The Flyers go into the media timeout on a 12-2 run over the last four minutes and an 8-0 run over the last three minutes.Â
- Kozlova extends the Flyer run and lead with a breakaway layup on the fastbreak.Â
- Monyek hit her second three of the game to push the lead to 86-35 with 2:44 left in the third quarter.Â
- Redshirt freshman Saija Cleveland recorded their first points of the season by converting two free throws on the next possession. The Flyers have scored 17 unanswered points over the last six minutes.
- Fiala converted a putback layup through a foul and made the free throw as time ran out in the third quarter.Â
- The Flyers scored the last 20 points of the quarter.Â
4th Quarter: Dayton 112, Miami Hamilton 45
- Fiala got the Flyers on the board in the fourth quarter by converting a layup a minute in. The Flyers lead 93-37.
- Monyek scored the Flyers 100th point with 5:49 left to play.Â
- Cleveland hit a layup as the shot clock expired to extend the Dayton lead to 106-43 with 3:04 left to play.Â
- The Flyers had three players finish in double digits with two players scoring over 20 points.Â
