LA JOLLA, Calif. - The University of Dayton softball team closed out its trip to the west coast with a 6-0 shutout win over UC San Diego Saturday. The Flyers improve to 7-2 on the season and have won six of their last seven games.
UC San Diego finished the weekend with a 1-10 overall mark.

Izzy Kemp recorded six strikeouts to zero walks and allowed zero runs over 6.0 innings of work in the circle
2 - junior
Emma Schutter was one of two Flyers with two hits in the game; she also scored two runs, collected two RBI and stole two bases
0 - this was the Flyers' third shutout of the season

UP NEXT
Dayton will participate in the Hilltopper Spring Fling next weekend, a three-day event hosted by Western Kentucky. UD will play a total of five games against Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky March 1-3 at the WKU Softball Complex in Bowling Green, Ky.
