BRONX, N.Y. - Sophomore right-handed pitcher Izzy Kemp tossed a two-hit, complete-game shutout Friday in top-seeded University of Dayton softball's 2-0 win over #3 Loyola Chicago. With the Flyers' A-10 Championship semifinals win over the Ramblers, UD advances to the program's third appearance in the conference tournament finals. The title game is scheduled for May 11 at 12 p.m. followed by an if-necessary game 30 minutes after.

The 2024 A-10 Championship is being played at Fordham's Bahoshy Field.

Dayton improved to 32-19 on the season while Loyola Chicago moved to 29-23 over. LUC will square off against the winner of today's second game between #2 Saint Louis and #5 Massachusetts to determine UD's championship opponent.

SHO - Kemp recorded her career-high-tying fourth solo shutout of the season
RBI - graduate student Katie Reeg collected the game's only RBI with her sacrifice fly-out in the sixth inning
8 - Kemp tallied eight strikeouts, the eighth time this season she has had seven or more Ks in a game
2 - junior Chloe Wong was 2-for-3 with a run scored, her team-high-tying 15th multi-hit game of the season
