DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball program remains on the road to take on Western Michigan University Thursday, Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Kalamazoo, Mich.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton sits at .500 on the year at 5-5 overall and is 1-3 in true road games this season. The Flyers have battled through injuries over the past few games and will look to get a healthy squad some momentum heading into the holiday break.

Head coach Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her fourth season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.

The Flyers are averaging 65.1 points per game and giving up 67.7 points to opponents. UD is shooting 42.9 percent overall, 30.6 percent from three, and 69.3 percent from the free throw line. The Flyers benefit from a +3.3 rebounding margin.

Leading the way is senior Nayo Lear with 15.6 points per game while junior transfer Fatima Ibrahim is adding 9.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks each outing.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
WESTERN MICHIGAN

Western Michigan hosts Dayton with a two-game winning streak, picking up wins over Valparaiso and A-10 foe Loyola Chicago last week. The Broncos are 3-5 overall and 1-2 at home this season.

Head coach Kate Achter is in her first season in charge at WMU and has previous stops at Detroit Mercy and Loyola Chicago.

As a team, the Broncos are scoring just 57.1 points each contest and allowing 68.1 points to opposing squads. WMU is shooting 37.1 percent from the floor, 27.8 percent from three point range, and 60.0 percent from the charity stripe.

WMU has had a consistent lineup most of the season with five players starting seven or more games. Kailey Starks leads the team with 10.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while De'Ahna Richardson contributing 9.3 points and 6.0 boards each game.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton went to Purdue University Sunday and was without leading scorer Nayo Lear in a tough 80-43 loss. The Flyers shot just 25.5 percent from the field and committed a season-high 26 turnovers.

Western Michigan powered its way to a 58-48 win over Valpo last outing, despite trailing at the half. Mary Clare Brusek, Kailey Starks, and De'Ahna Richardson all scored double-figures for the Broncos.
