DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's basketball team wraps the non-conference portion of the 2025-26 schedule by welcoming Liberty to UD Arena, the Epicenter of College Basketball, for the first time in program history, with tip scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
Saturday's matinee will be broadcast on USA Network.
The Flyers (9-3) drubbed Florida State, 97-69, to pick up their first win over a 'Power Four' opponent this season. Liberty (7-3) cruised to a 95-57 victory over NAIA Midway College on Tuesday night to get back on the right track after a 40-point loss to NC State.
Six players finished the game in double-figure scoring for UD, with senior
Javon Bennett (25) and sophomore
De'Shayne Montgomery (20) leading the way. Dayton attempted 47 free throws in the game (making 40), marking the second time this season the Flyers got to the line 40-or-more times (41 vs. Canisius, 11/3/25).
UD had never shot 40 free throws in a game during the
Anthony Grant era prior to this season, and have only done so five times in the last 15 years.
