DAYTON -Â The University of Dayton women's basketball program returns to action after the holiday break with Atlantic 10 play as the Flyers head to George Mason University Wednesday, Dec. 31 for a 12 p.m. tipoff.Â
SCOUTING THE FLYERSÂ
Dayton rides a two-game winning streak into New Year's Eve after picking up wins at Western Michigan and home against Evansville before the break. The Flyers are 7-5 overall and 0-1 in A-10 games.
Head coach
Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her fourth season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.Â
The Flyers are averaging 65.9 points per game and giving up 66.8 points to opponents. Dayton is shooting 44.3 percent overall, 30.7 percent from three-point range, and 66.1 percent from the free throw line. UD also has a +4.3 rebounding margin, but faces a -3.8 turnover margin.

Fatima Ibrahim with 8.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks each outing.Â
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
GEORGE MASONÂ
George Mason has a .500 record on the year, sitting at 6-6, but has a 1-0 A-10 mark. The Patriots are 5-2 at home this season, but losers of four of their last five contests. The lone win was the A-10 opener against Fordham, a 73-55 home victory.Â
Head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis is in her fifth season at GMU and 27th season as a head coach. She led the Patriots to their first ever A-10 title last season and received multiple Coach of the Year accolades.Â
As a team, George Mason is averaging 71.9 points each outing and holding opposing squads to 66.1 points per game. The Patriots are shooting 39.4 percent from the field, 32.2 percent from behind the arc, and 72.1 percent from the charity stripe.Â
A-10 First Team and All-Defensive Team honoree Zahirah Walton leads GMU with 20.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while also adding 12 blocks and 21 steals in 12 games. Kennedy Harris is chipping in 12.9 points and has a team-high 22 made threes as well.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton returned home to earn a 75-66 victory over Evansville on Dec. 21 before the Christmas Break.

Ajok Madol had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
George Mason battled No. 25 Princeton on Dec. 20 to a narrow 71-69 overtime loss at home. The Patriots used a big second half to force extra time, but gave up the game-winning bucket with two seconds left.Â
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and George Mason are meeting for the 16th time in program history with the Flyers leading the series 10-5. The Patriots have won the last three meetings though including an 86-53 win at Dayton last season.
