DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will finish up the regular season on Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. at St. Bonaventure University.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton heads into the season finale with a 16-12 record overall and 10-7 Atlantic 10 mark, sitting in seventh in the league standings. The Flyers are on a two-game winning streak and look to carry that momentum into the postseason next week.
Head coach
Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her third season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.
The Flyers are averaging 64.9 points per game and holding opponents to 63.5 points each outing. Dayton is shooting 41.5 percent overall, 31.9 percent from three point range, and 69.5 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from a +2.8 rebounding margin.
Leading the way for the Flyers are seniors
Ivy Wolf with 16.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per game and
Arianna Smith with 11.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 11 double-doubles on the year.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
ST. BONAVENTURE
St. Bonaventure ends the year at home after going 6-22 so far and 2-15 in A-10 contests. The Bonnies are 4-9 at the Reilly Center this year and last won at home against Saint Louis on Jan. 8.
Head coach Jim Crowley is in his second stint at SBU, returning after seven seasons at Providence. He has 392 wins in his career.
As a team, St. Bonaventure is scoring just 53.1 points each outing and giving up 69.6 points to opposing squads. The Bonnies are averaging 36.0 percent from the field, 31.0 percent from behind the arc, and 73.6 percent from the charity stripe.
The leader on offense for SBU is Dani Haskell with 13.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while Zoe Shaw and Isabellah Middleton are contributing 10.8 and 10.3 points each outing respectively.
SERIES HISTORY
The Flyers and Bonnies are meeting for the 35th time in program history with Dayton holding a 23-11 series advantage. UD has won the last two match-ups including the first round game on March 6 in last season's A-10 Tournament, 66-52.
