Wofford Outlasts Softball, 4-2, In Terrier Invite Championship Game

Wong Recorded Her First Double of the Season, Collected Two RBI

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The University of Dayton softball team dropped a 4-2 decision at Wofford in the finale of the Terrier Invite Sunday afternoon. Senior Chloe Wong recorded her first double of the season, knocking in two runs for the Flyers.

Dayton closes out the first weekend of the season with a 4-1 record while Wofford also moves to 4-1 overall.

KEYS STATS
H - five different Flyers recorded a hit in the game, including sophomore Kirnan Bailey who tallied a hit in all five games this weekend
5 - junior Molly Grace (1B) and freshman Katelin Goodwin (C) led the team with five putouts apiece
5 - junior Izzy Kemp collected five Ks over 5.0 innings of work in the circle
Win - Axelson (2-0). Loss - Camrynn Linneman (0-1). Save - None.

UP NEXT
Dayton will return to action Feb. 21-23 as it takes part in the I-75 Challenge co-hosted by Georgia State, Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State. Georgia State will host Dayton Friday, Feb. 21 for a doubleheader at Bob Heck Softball Complex to kick off the Challenge. UD will also square off against Memphis (at Kennesaw State) and Georgia Tech.
