SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
SAINT LOUIS
Saint Louis has had an up-and-down season so far similar to Dayton, sitting at 9-10 on the year and 3-3 in A-10 contests. The Billikens are 5-5 and coming off a big conference road win at La Salle Wednesday so they have momentum on their side as they return home to Chaifetz Arena.Â
Head coach Rebecca Tillett is in her fourth season at SLU, coming over from Longwood previously.Â
As a team, Saint Louis is scoring 70.1 points per contest and holding opposing squads to just 67.8 points. The Billikens are averaging 40.0 percent from the field, 29.3 percent from behind the arc, and 74.6 percent from the charity stripe.Â
SLU has a balanced attack with five players averaging 9.6 points or more, led by Alexia Nelson with 13.4 points each outing. Behind that though, the bench has combined for only two starts and all average below 3.6 points per game with the Billikens relying heavily on their starters.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton battled Richmond closer than the final score of 85-67 would indicate in the Flyers' home loss on Wednesday night. UD cut the margin to six with 2:10 left in the third, but were unable to complete the comeback as the Spiders shot a season-high percentage.Â
SLU earned a tough road win at La Salle Wednesday morning, 66-57. The Billikens got 20 points and 13 boards from Alyssa Koerkenmeier while Zya Nugent added 13 points and 10 rebounds as well in the effort.Â
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and Saint Louis are meeting for the 54th time in program history with the Flyers holding a 37-16 series advantage. The Billikens have won six of the last seven matchups however, including a 72-63 win at Chaifetz on Feb. 19, 2025.
