DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team opened its 2026 Atlantic 10 season at home Sunday with a doubleheader against visiting Loyola Chicago. The Ramblers claimed back-to-back wins over the Flyers, 3-2 (9 inn.) and 5-3. UD and LUC will close out the three-game series Monday with a single game at 11 a.m.
Dayton moves to 8-7 overall and 0-2 in A-10 games while Loyola Chicago is now 10-13 on the season and 2-0 in league contests.
GAME ONE
Loyola Chicago 3, Dayton 2 (9 inn.)

Izzy Kemp struck out a season-high 15 batters in the circle, her fifth double-digit K game of the season
2 - junior
Deirdre Flaherty recorded two hits in the game, her fifth multi-hit game of the year
HR - sophomore
Camrynn Linneman knocked out her second home run of the season

10 - as a team, the Flyers combined for 10 hits
7 - Linneman fanned a career-high seven batters over 4.2 innings of work

Katelin Goodwin tallied a career-high three hits, her third multi-hit game of the season
Win - Maddie Hickey (2-2). Loss -
Soseh Broglin (0-2). Save - None.
UP NEXT
Dayton and Loyola Chicago will close out their three-game conference series Monday with a single game at UD Softball Stadium. First pitch is set for 11 a.m. and admission is free.
