Biography

2016-17 (Senior) 
• One of the co-captains for the 2016-17 year; only three time captain in Dayton basketball history.
• Started all 32 games for Dayton, the only Flyer to do so.
• Led the team on the season in minutes, assists (4.5) and steals (51).
• Posted career highs on the year in FG (.468), FT (.772), 3-pt (.388) percentage, as well as assists (4.5) and points (13.8).
• Named to the First Team All-Atlantic 10. 
• Played in all 136 games of his career.
• Led Dayton in scoring in 7 games this season, led in assists in 17 games
• Dropped 25 points in the NCAA tournament against Wichita State along with 4 assists and 4 steals leading all players in these categories.
• Finished in the top 10 in the A-10 for assists (4.5), steals (1.6), 3-pt percentage (.388), and assist/turnover ratio (2.1). 
• Named A-10 Conference Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 30 when he led the Flyers to a 3-0 record and averaged 19 points, 5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals during the week. 

2015-16 (Junior)
• One of three co-captains for the 2015-16 year
• Started all 33 games for the Flyers during the 2015-16 campaign
• Led the team in assists per game (4.3) and steals per game (1.3)
• Was third on the team in scoring after posting a career-high 11.7 points per game
• Shot .382 percent from behind the arc and made 47 triples, both career highs and good for second-best on the team during the 2015-16 season
• In back-to-back games versus Richmond on Mar. 1 and VCU on Mar. 5., he scored 26 and a new career-high 29 points, respectively
• Scored 24 of his team-high 26 points in the second half at Richmond on Mar. 1
• Recorded 11 assists, also a new career high, in the A-10 conference tournament semifinals against Saint Joseph's on Mar. 12
• Posted a career-best assist-to-turnover ratio (2.26)
• Finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer to put Dayton ahead with 46 seconds left against Duquesne
• Earned A-10's co-Player of the Week award on March 7 after he averaged 27.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5 steals with 10 assists over 2 games
• Named NCAA.com's Player of the Week on Mar. 8
• Registered his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 assists versus Saint Joseph's in the A-10 Semifinals
• Ranked in the top 10 for assists per game (4.3), 3-pt FG% (.391), and Ast-turn ratio (2.26) in the A-10
• Moved into 13th (354) all-time for career assists at Dayton

2014-15 (Sophomore)
• Started all 36 games for the Flyers during the 2014-15 campaign
• Averaged 9.2 points per game, good enough for the fourth best mark on the team
• Led the team in assists (138, 3.8 apg) and maintained a 1.9:1 assist-to-turnover ratio
• Ranked second on the team in free-throw percentage at 75.5% and shot 38% from beyond the arc (41-of-108)
• Averaged 12.7 points in the NCAA Tournament as he tallied 11 points against both Boise State and Providence and recorded 16 points vs. Oklahoma
• Played 117 of a possible 120 minutes in the NCAA Tournament
• Winner of the Dr. George Rau Spirit Award, which is given annually to the player who displays true team spirit, on and off the court
• Received the Uhl Family Endowed Scholarship, given to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of good sportsmanship and character, and follows the University's creed of "Learn, Lead and Serve" on and off the court

2013-14 (Freshman)
• Saw action in all 37 games
• Totaled 641 minutes (17.3 mpg) and scored 132 points (3.6 ppg) and was second on the team in assists with 73 (2.0 apg)
• Assist to turnover ratio of 1.8:1 (73 assists to 41 turnovers) was best on team
• Scored a career-high 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting and added four rebounds and two assists at Ole Miss
• During the NCAA Tournament, Smith tallied five points and three assists against both Syracuse and Stanford
• In the Elite Eight game against Florida, Smith gained five points and two assists

High School
• Ranked the 106th prospect in the nation by Rivals
• ESPN ranks Smith as the fifth best player out of the state of New York for the class of 2013
• Invited to play in the Jordan Brand Regional All-Star game after his senior season at Putnam Science Academy
• He tallied a double-double of 11 points, 11 assists and six rebounds, but his team fell 114-102
• First UD recruit to play in a Jordan Brand All-Star game since Chris Wright did it in 2007
• Led PSA squad to a 22-8 record during his senior season while averaging 18.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game
• Shot 51% from the field and 40% from beyond the three-point line
• All-Northeast Connecticut First Team
• PSA won the Northeast Prep Championship and named the MVP of the tournament
• Averaged 17.2 points and 6.1 assists as a junior for PSA, while shooting better than 40% from three-point range
• First player ever for PSA to top 1,000 points in a high school career
• School’s all-time assist leader (345) and steals (205) leader in just two years at the school
• Holds the single-game record for steals in a game with seven, which he accomplished five times
• Named the No.1 recruit out of the state of Connecticut for 2013 by the New England Recruiting Report
