Biography

2020-21 (Senior)
• Member of Dayton's V8+ that earned bronze medals in the Atlantic 10 Championship Grand Final, edging out Massachusetts at the finish line. The Flyers finished the 2k in 6:57.588 to earn bronze over the Minutewomen who finished in 6:59.328. The Flyer V8+ made the Grand Final by placing second in its preliminary heat in 7:09.653.
• Dayton's V8+ split into two V4+s to take on Duquesne. The Flyers went 1-2 in that race with the Dayton B team finishing first in 6:26.8 and the Dayton A team in 6:32.1. Wheeler was part of the Dayton A team
• Part of Dayton's V8+ that advanced to the Mason Invitational grand final with a second place finish in the A-10 race in a time of 6:48.8. The Flyers took third place in the grand final in a time of 6:49.1, edging out Saint Joseph's.
• Part of the V8+ named the Ohio's College Advantage Student-Athletes of the Week for contests during the week of April 5-11
• Part of Dayton's V8+ that had two first-place finishes vs. Eastern Michigan in the V8 500-meter races. In the first 500m piece, Dayton was first in a time of 1:48.47 and EMU was second in 1:53.1. UD also won the second 500m race in 1:48.15 and the Eagles were second in 1:52.99.
• Member of the Flyers V8+ that won the 2k race in 6:32.0 vs. Marietta
• Member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Executive Board (SAAC)
• Named to the 2020-21 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll

2019-20 (Junior)
• No spring season due to COVID-19

2018-19 (Sophomore)
•  Member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
•  Member of the Varsity 4+ who finished in 3rd place out of 9 with a time of 17:52.8 at the Bald Eagle Collegiate Invitational.
•  Competed on the Varsity 8+ A  team who finished in 3rd place out of 7 teams at the Bald Eagle Collegiate Invitational.
•  Member of the Dayton A line-up who finished first in the 2k event, first in the 1k event and second in the 900m race at Marietta.
•  Part of the V8+ who finished first in the petite final with a time of 7:06.3 at the the Cooper Invite.
•  Competed on the Varsity 8+  team who won it's semifinal with a time of 7:12.089 and also took third place in the Grand Final at SIRA.
•  Member of the V8+ who won all of their events against Duquesne in Dayton, Ohio.
•  Raced in the A-10 Championships as a member of the V8+ lineup who finished with time of 6:50.68, missing medals by less than one second.

2017-18 (Freshman)
  • Named Dayton's Most Outstanding Novice
  • Named to 2017-18 A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll
  • Raced twice in the V4+ boat on 10/10/17 in Morgantown, W.Va. against WVU and Duquesne.
  • Part of the Novice 4 team that finished third in the 6K (26:25.04) and then finished fourth, first, and first in the three 500m sprints at the Muskie Chase hosted by Marietta.
  • Part of the V8+ boat that finished second in the morning session with a time of 7:29.08 and then placed first in the afternoon session's V8+ B Final with a time of 6:44.6 at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
  • On day one of the George Washington Invitational, raced in the V8+ that finished second with a time of 6:31.70. On day two, competed in the V8+ that finished second with a time of 6:43.00.
  • At the Cooper Invitational, competed in the 2V8+ race, finishing in a time of 8:16.69, and also raced in the 2V8+ Petite Final, placing second with a time of 7:51.64.
  • On day one at the SIRA Regatta, raced in the JV8+ Time Trial, finishing fifth overall with a time of 6:32.81. This qualified the JV8+ for the semifinals, which they finished in third place in a time of 7:41.08. In the JV8+ Grand Final, finished in a time of 7:29.63, good for fifth overall.
  • At A-10 Championships, raced in the 2V8+ which won the Petite Final, with a time of 7:17.27.
