Biography
2023-24 (R-Junior)
• Returned to practice in September after the surgeries in the spring
• Scored 15 points (4-6 3-pt.) in 25 minutes at Northwestern
• Had 13 points (including the game-tying three with 48 seconds left) in the LSU win
• Had 22 points, six rebounds and two steals at SMU. Scored seven of UD’s last eight points in the two-point win. Was six of eight from three-point range in the game
• Started for the first time this year at Saint Louis, and scored 21 points (7-10 FG, 5-8 3-pt.) with five rebounds
• Scored 18 points (16 in the second half) in the VCU win. Made four of five threes during Dayton’s 17-point second-half comeback
• Named A-10 Sixth Man of the Year for the second time. Only the second two-time A-10 Sixth Man ever. (James Posey of Xavier in 1997 and 1998)
• Scored 15 points (12 in the second half) comeback win over Nevada; Was four-of-five from 3-pt. after halftime
• Had 14 points (4-8 3-pt.), four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block vs. Arizona
• Led the nation in 3-pt. FG% (.498, 100-201); It was the highest mark in the NCAA in six years
• Member of the 2023-24 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll
2022-23 (R-Sophomore)
• Appeared in 28 games this season making starts in 10 of those games, including the last nine
• Missed six games early in the year due to injury/illness
• Averaged 6.8 ppg and 3.3 rpg during the season and shot 40-88 (46%) from three during conference play
• Scored a season high 18 points in a win vs Richmond where he went 6-7 from behind the arc
• Registered 47 assists (career high), nine steals, and seven blocks on the season
• Battled injuries and illness to start the season, but eventually found his groove during conference play where he averaged 8.3 ppg on 41% shooting
• Started the final nine games for the Flyers
• Had just seven free throw attempts on the season, but made them all
• Had rods surgically implanted in the spring in both tibias to mitigate stress fractures he played through during the 2022-23 season
2021-22 (R-Freshman)
• Named the A-10 Sixth Man of the Year
• Averaged 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds while being one of four Flyers to appear in all 35 games.
• Led the team in made three pointers, attempts and percentage (42%). Brea was responsible for 27% of the team's made three's.
• Registered 14 steals and five blocks
• Shot an Atlantic 10-best .487 (38-78) from deep in conference play
• Saw a career high 20 in the Flyers win over St. Bonaventure, while going 6-7 from three.
• Hit a three-pointer with 43 seconds left to seal a Dayton win over Davidson.
• Reached double-digits in eight of the final 10 games of the season
• Named the Ohio's College Advantage Student-Athletes of the Week
• Was nominated for the Rising Star Award at the 2022 RUDYS
• Earned the Chris Daniels Memorial Most Improved Player Award
2020-21 (Freshman)
• After missing much of the preseason and all of the non-conference schedule due to an injury, Brea played in 16 games with three starts in 2020-21
• He averaged 2.9 points and 14.1 minutes a game
• In his first college action, he drained his first shot as a Flyer in the first half of the La Salle game
• Played catch-up with his development and comfort level all year, but had 21 of his season’s 49 points and 11 of his 31 rebounds in the last three games
• Co-recipient of the Uhl Family Endowed Scholarship
In High School
• Averaged 20.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists as a senior
• In 2020, led Monsignor Scanlon High School to the final four of the Class AA New York Catholic High School Athletic Association for the first time in school history, but the remainder of the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic
• Second Team All-New York
• Averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists as a junior in his first varsity season at Monsignor Scanlan, earning honorable mention all-state honors
• Team captain as a senior
• In the summer of 2019, represented the Dominican National Team in the U-17 FIBA Centrobasket Championships in San Juan. Although he was born in the United States, both of Koby’s parents are from the Dominican Republic, making Brea eligible to play for the DR. He played in five games, averaging 26.8 minutes, 9.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists a game. He shot 44% FG and 41% from three
