Senior Tyler Roeth was named the Most Valuable Runner, an award given to the runner who is most vital to the team's success. He also received his fourth-year award. Roeth graduates in 2014 holding the 19th fastest 8K (24:34 finish at A-10 Championships) and 25th fastest 10K times (32:59 finish at the NCAA Regionals) in the 33-year history of the Flyer men's cross country program. He is ranked fifth on the Harrier Heroes list of UD's All-Time Personal Bests with his 24:34 finish at the A-10 Championships. Roeth was the first Flyer to finish in all but one race this season.
2012
Tyler Roeth ran 15:56 at the Flyer 5k. This was a 5k best. He followed this with a 26:26 at the national Catholic. He set a personal best at the All-Ohio Championships with a time of 25:48. This placed him 22nd on the UD Harrier Heroes list. At the Pre- Nationals he ran 26:06 and at the Atlantic 10 Championship ran 26:42. He finished the year with a 34:37 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional
2011
Roeth competed in four varsity events for the Flyers this season and contributed an overall mile pace time of 5:26.9. He began the season with a 16:37 time at the Flyer 5K and added a solid time of 26:58 at the National Catholic 8K in South Bend, Indiana.
2010
Roeth entered UD after four successful years of high school and looked to carry his efforts over to his new environment. In his first race of the year, the Flyer 5K, Tyler took 35th with a 16:00 mark. The next week, at the Mel Brodt Invitational, he placed 24th with a time of 26:20.
High School
Roeth was the Four-time Cross Country MVP at Houston High School and for three years was the point leader in track...He was a 2008 Ohio High School State Championship Cross Country Qualifier...He earned Second Team All-Ohio honors after finishing sixth in the 3200m at the track and field State Championships...Placed runner-up in the 3200m and third in the 4x800 at the Regional meet...was undefeated as an individual during the regular season of his junior year...He came in third place at the 2009 Shelby County Athletic League Championship... His personal best times are 9:41 in the 3200m in track and 15:54 in the 5000m in cross country...Selected to the Academic All-Ohio Cross Country and Track Teams as a junior...Carried a 4.0 GPA and was Valedictorian at Houston...Also a member of National Honor Society.
