Ed Streit is in his first year as the University of Dayton’s men’s basketball program’s Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Streit, 29, comes to UD from the University of Connecticut, where he spent one season as the strength and conditioning coach for UConn men’s basketball.
Prior to that, the Windy City native spent three-and-a-half years with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls on their strength and conditioning staff. The last two ywears in Chicago was as the team's assistant strength and conditioning coach. Previous to his time in the NBA, Streit worked two seasons with the men’s and women’s basketball teams at Arizona State University as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. That followed a stretch as a sports performance intern while at DePaul, where he also worked with both men’s and women’s basketball.
Headquartered in the Olsen Center, Streit will design and implement the strength and conditioning programs for UD men’s basketball. This includes pre-practice and pre-game warmups, and post-workout recovery. He will help educate the Flyers on nutrition, and work closely with men’s basketball athletic trainer Mike Mulcahey on injury prevention/reduction and aid in rehabilitation/return-to-play.
Streit received his B.S. in Exercise Science from Illinois State University and pursued his M.S. in Exercise and Wellness at Arizona State.
