Mike Mulcahey is in his twenty fifth year of being a certified athletic trainer and ninth season as a member of the University of Dayton's Sports Medicine staff providing medical care to Men's Basketball and the Golf programs. Mike has also handled the travel coordination for the Men's Basketball program.
He came to UD from Xavier University, where he was a Clinical Coordinator and faculty member in the school's athletic training degree program. Prior to that, Mulcahey was an assistant athletic trainer at Xavier from 1999-2010, serving as the primary trainer for the men's basketball program as well as performing administrative duties within the sports medicine department.
Mulcahey is a Ohio licensed and board certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, former Southwest District representative to the Ohio Athletics Trainers' Association, member and former webmaster of the College Athletic Trainers' Society, and has served as the President of the Greater Cincinnati Athletic Trainers' Association.Â
Mike is certified in Integrative Dry Needling and is a clinical preceptor for athletic training students from local collegiate programs. He served on the OATA Emergency Response & Crisis Management committee, has been a representative of the Southwest district, and is a licensed EMT in Ohio.  He has also spent time as a volunteer at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado as well as served on the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Services Team.  Â
Mulcahey and his wife, Emily have two sons - Patrick and Ryan - and reside in Cincinnati.Â
