Biography
2014
Fakler began his senior season with a time of 17:57.60 at the Flyer 5K. He followed that up with a season-best 5K time of 17:21.79 at the Queen City Invitational. Fakler posted almost identical times in his two 8K races this season, running 27:09.49 at the Friendship Invitational, finishing third on the team, and 27:09.62 at the All-Ohio Championships. He received a fourth-year team award.
2013
Fakler started off the season with a 16:53 finish at the Flyer 5K followed by a 16:05 finish at the Queen City 5K. He finished the Friendship 8K with a best five-mile mark by season (27:07). At the All-Ohio 8K he was the fifth Flyer to finish in 27:12. He earned the three-year award.
2012
Fakler started the season setting a personal 5k best at the Flyer 5k (15:59). At the National Catholic Invitational he ran 27:26 and followed this up with a 26:38 at the All-Ohio Championships. This was a new personal best. He finished his season at the NCAA Pre-National Championships running 27:16.
2011
Fakler started his college running career by recording a time of 16:37 at the Flyer 5K. He followed up this performance with two more races at the varsity level. Fakler ran a time of 27:24 at the National Catholic 8K and a time of 29:22 and the Pre-National’s 8K.
High School
Fakler was a four-year varsity letter winner in both cross country and track for Solon High School...He was a team captain for Solon, a two-time State qualifier in cross country, taking 13th and 11th place...Outside of running he earned Eagle Scout rank, and also served as a lifeguard and swim instructor.

Son of Brian and Carmela Fakler...has a sister Anna and two older brothers, Joe and Mike...Mike ran cross country and track for University of Miami (Ohio)...Born Sept. 18, 1992...Engineering major.
