The University of Dayton women’s basketball program has announced the hiring of former player Cassie Sant as the new Assistant Recruiting Coordinator/Video Coordinator.

“I could not be more excited to have Cassie join our staff and welcome her back home to Dayton,” said head coach Shauna Green. “What an incredible addition she’ll be to our Flyer family. Her skill set speaks for itself and being a former player here is invaluable to our players and everyone involved in our program. She’s worn the jersey, gone through the ups-and-downs as a student-athlete and was a major component in making Dayton basketball what it is today. She will make an immediate impact on our program.”

Sant joins the Flyers after serving as a graphic specialist for the Cleveland Clinic in their Center for Design. She previously also worked at Premier Health in the marketing and communications department as well.

During her time as a graphic designer, Sant was an assistant coach at Centerville High School in 2016-17 and her alma mater Fairmont High School in 2017-18.

A 2014 graduate from the University of Dayton with a degree in Visual Communication Design, Sant went on to play professionally for Virtus Basket La Spezia in Italy and Kilsyth Lady Cobras in Australia. There she averaged 18 points and nine rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent from the field. She led her team to the South Conference Championship and a spot in the SEABL Grand Finals.

In her four-year career at Dayton, Sant appeared in 117 games with 59 starts in her final two seasons. She guided the Flyers to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

She currently resides in Kettering with her dog Dirk.
