Samantha MacKay Photo Gallery2010-2011:MacKay played in 28 games in her sophomore season and averaged close to nine minutes a game…Had a strong outing against nationally-ranked Xavier as she scored career highs in points (12) and assists (5) on an ESPN nationally-televised game... She also made five of nine shots and shot 50 percent from the perimeter against Xavier... In the A-10 Semifinal victory over Temple she matched her best assist total with five and had four rebounds to tie her career best... She finished the season shooting .345 from three and .857 from the free throw line.
2009-2010:Played in 26 games during her freshman season at UD and averaged 9.1 mpg... MacKay made her debut in a win over Georgetown and played four minutes while also tallying one assist... Had a season-high eight points on 4-6 shooting with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a win over Seattle... Samantha had a career high five assists in her home debut against Milwaukee-Wisconsin... Put up five points in 10 minutes against Navy... Had two points, two rebounds, four assists, and one steal against Richmond... Had her career-high four rebounds to go along with two assists against No. 10 ranked Xavier.
High School:In her senior season, MacKay was named a McDonald's All-American Nominee...She was the District 10 Player of the Year and Ohio Central Conference Player of the Year...MacKay was also named First Team All-OCC both her junior and senior seasons...During her junior season, MacKay earned second team all-district and All-Ohio honorable mention honors... She finished her career as the school's record holder in career assists, single season assists , and single game assists.... MacKay also owns the school's record in steals (single, season, and career) and in most career three pointers.
Personal:Daughter of Ron and Sandy Richards...Born on May 24, 1991...She is a sports management major.
