Ian Richardson

Ian Richardson joined the University of Dayton women’s soccer staff as a volunteer assistant in July of 2013. He will also be working with Metro FC.

Following a successful playing career at Lincoln Memorial University that featured an NCAA Final Four and Final appearance, Richardson transitioned into collegiate coaching as a graduate assistant at his alma mater. 

Prior to UD, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tenn. While with the Eagles, Richardson helped the men’s team to a second place finish in the South Atlantic Conference. 

In addition he was head coach of the Lakeway Soccer Club where he developed the soccer club’s relationship with Carson-Newman University and assisted with the creation and implementation of Skillz Skool Academy.

In addition to playing collegiately at LMU, Richardson also has extensive playing experience in Scotland with the Rangers Football Club, Kilmarnock Football Club and Airdrie Football Club.

Richardson holds his USSF National D License and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. 

He graduated from Lincoln Memorial in 2009 with a degree in Kinesiology and with his master’s in education in 2011.

Richardson resides in Beavercreek, Ohio with his wife Amber.
