DAYTON FLYERS

  • The 25-point margin of victory is the highest over any ranked opponent since Dayton defeated #9 Duquesne 71-48 on Feb. 17, 1962 at UD Fieldhouse.
  • No. 6/6 Pittsburgh is the highest-ranked team to play Dayton in UD Arena since #3 DePaul came to the Arena on Feb. 18, 1984. The Flyers knocked off the Blue Demons 72-71 on Ed Young's last-second shot.
  • Brian Roberts scored in double figures in both halves against Pittsburgh. He has scored double-figures in a half 61 times in his career. In addition, Roberts has tallied double-figures in points in 37 of his last 40 games
  • The double-double by Marcus Johnson was the second of his career.
  • Brian Roberts' 31 points matched a season-high when he tallied the same number in the season opener against East Tennessee State.
  • Sophomore Kurt Huelsman scored in double-figures for the third time this season.
  • Dayton is 24-3 during the Brian Gregory era when scoring 75 points or more...it is only the second time this season the Panthers have allowed 70 points or more to an opponent.
  • Dayton converted its first eight free throws of the game, their longest streak of the season.
  • UD finished the month of December 7-0. Head coach Brian Gregory has never had a losing month of December going 28-11 in five seasons.
  • UD's 11-1 start matched its best start to a season since the Flyers won their first 14 games in 1955-56.
  • The announced attendance of 13,435 was the 80th sellout in UD Arena history.

    PITTSBURGH PANTHERS

  • Pittsburgh head coach Jamie Dixon lost only his third game ever in the month of December dropping to 33-3 in his career
  • The 80 points allowed were the most by Pittsburgh this season. In fact it's only the second time the Panthers have allowed more than 70 points.
  • With the 15 points scored by Sam Young, he reached double-figures for the 12th time this season and reached double-figures in 20 of his 23 games played.
