DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team its only two home matches of the month this weekend, hosting Fordham on Friday and Rhode Island on Sunday. In Friday's match-up against the Rams, first serve is set for 7 p.m. at Frericks Center for Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night. On Sunday, the Flyers and Rams will square off at 1 p.m. for UD's "Think Pink" match - WEAR PINK!
ABOUT THE FLYERS
Dayton (8-10, 2-4 A-10) split its matches over the weekend, beating Fordham 3-0 and falling in a close match against Rhode Island, 3-2. Averaging 2.95 blocks/set, Dayton currently leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks fifth nationally in that category.
Shayne Brown earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors after she tallied her first career double-double with 19 kills and 13 digs in the loss against Rhode Island.

Megan Campbell is the team's offensive leader, averaging 2.66 kills/set while hitting at a .324 clip (7th A-10). Sophomore
Jenna Jendryk is the squad's floor general, setting 9.16 assists per set (7th A-10), and sophomore
Janna Krafka is averaging 4.40 digs/set (2nd A-10) as the team's leading passer. At the net, three Flyers are averaging more than one block per set, including Campbell with 1.28 (3rd A-10).
SCOUTING FORDHAM
Fordham (8-13, 1-4 A-10) enters the game on a four-game losing streak and has lost seven of its last eight matches. The Rams were swept by Dayton this past Friday, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Flyers. In its second Atlantic 10 match of the week, Fordham faltered, 3-1, to Saint Louis on Oct. 13. As a team, the Rams are ranked second in the A-10 in service aces, averaging 1.38 aces per set.
Maria Rodenberg is a large part of Fordham's serving success. She is averaging 0.43 aces per set, placing her first in the A-10. Lindsay Ritchie is hitting at .333 (4th in A-10) while Sara Konkel is averaging 9.94 assists per set (3rd A-10).
SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND
Rhode Island (10-10, 3-2 A-10) is set to take on Duquesne Friday before heading to Dayton on Sunday. The Rams' win against the Flyers on Sunday, Oct. 12 snapped a two-game skid for URI. The Rams are are first in digs per set (15.79) and are second in the A-10 in kills per set (13.25)
Callan Kinnan leads Rhode Island and ranks second in the A-10 in assists per set with 10.48. Franki Darnold is benefiting from Kinnan's setting ability as she is racking up 3.92 kills per set (3rd A-10).

RPI RANKINGS
Dayton heads into this weekend's matches holding an RPI ranking of 112 according to ncaa.com. Fordham currently ranks 284th in the RPI while Rhode Island weighs in at 191 out of 332 Division I programs.
BROWN'S FIRST CAREER DOUBLE-DOUBLE EARNS POW HONORS
Senior
Shayne Brown was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Oct. 14 as announced by the conference office. She led the Flyers to a split weekend with 4.00 kills per set, tallying double-digit kills in both matches. Brown posted a match-high 13 kills while adding six digs and three blocks in Dayton's sweep of Fordham on Friday. On Sunday, Brown recorded her first career double-double with a career-high 19 kills and a career-high 13 digs at Rhode Island. She hit .267 and averaged 2.38 digs/set for the week.

THREE-HEADED MONSTER
Currently three Flyers are hitting above .270 and averaging more than 1.00 block/set. Senior
Megan Campbell leads the team with 2.66 kills/set and is hitting at a .324 (177-40-410) average while also tallying 1.28 blocks/set and sophomore
Angel Agu holds a .277 (38-14-101) hitting percentage and records 1.26 blocks per frame. Junior
Isolde Hannan hits at .288 (84-29-191) while ranking third on the team with 1.21 blocks/set.
Campbell already holds two of Dayton's top five single-season hitting percentages (.412 2nd, 2011; .398 5th, 2012). Her career hitting percentage of .374 currently ranks third all-time in program history.
BATTLING THE BEST
Five of Dayton's 10 losses this season were against teams that were ranked or receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Flyers defeated Saint Mary's (Calif.), 3-2, when the Gaels were receiving votes in the national poll earlier this season.
