Box Score DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (11-4-1, 6-0-0 A-10)
has clinched at least a share of the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title with a 3-1 win over Fordham (4-9-3, 2-4-1 A-10) Sunday at Baujan Field.
It marks the 11th Regular Season title for the UD women's soccer program. The win was also the 200th in program history at home. The Flyers are 200-57-19 all-time at Baujan Field.
For the second consecutive match, Dayton came from behind to secure the victory. The Rams went up 1-0 in the 42nd minute and took that lead into halftime.
Dayton is unbeaten in its last 10 matches.
The Flyers scored three unanswered goals in the second period. Sophomore
Ashley Campbell scored her league-leading 13th goal of the season in the 51st minute. Fellow sophomore
Nicole Waters set her up with a long pass up the middle.
In the 74th minute, Campbell was tripped in the box. Senior
Juliana Libertin converted to give UD the lead.
Libertin scored again in the 88th minute after an assist from Waters to cushion the Flyer lead.
Dayton came out strong in the second period, taking 13 shots to Fordham's four. The two teams each had seven shots in the first period.
Fordham led 3-0 on corner kicks in the first period, while UD won that battle 4-0 in the second half.
Dayton travels to Philadelphia to close out the regular season next weekend with A-10 matches against La Salle (Nov. 1) and Saint Joseph's (Nov. 3) before the A-10 Championship in Richmond, Va. Nov. 7-10.
