DAYTON KNOCKED OUT OF A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP ON PKS

La Salle Advances And Claims A-10 Automatic Berth 6-5 On PKs

Box Score RICHMOND, Va. –  The University of Dayton women's soccer team tied La Salle 1-1 in the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship Sunday at VCU Sports Backers Stadium. After 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtimes, the match went to PKs and the Explorers captured the title 5-4 on PKs. It marks La Salle's second consecutive A-10 Championship title.

The Flyers' season ends with a 15-4-2 record, while La Salle is 15-4-3. The Explorers earned the A-10's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.

The Flyers got off to a quick start with a goal just 42 seconds into the match. Senior Juliana Libertin scored on a header off of sophomore Nicole Waters' corner kick. It marked the 17th assist of the season and her fourth of the tournament, breaking the all-time A-10 Championship record for assists.

La Salle answered in the 36th minute on a Kelsey Haycook goal.

After a scoreless second half, and two scoreless overtimes the match went to PKs. 

Nicole Waters, Ashley Campbell and Juliana Libertin were named to the A-10 All-Championship Team.
