George Mason cut the Dayton lead to five, 15-10, after benefiting from a Flyer attack error but that would be as close as they would get the rest of the way. UD led by eight at set point, 24-16, and was able to take the second game on a kill from Brown to go up two sets to none.
Despite falling behind 2-1 in the third set to the Patriots, the Flyers rallied with an 8-2 run to break open a 9-4 advantage over Mason.
