VOLLEYBALL TO CLOSE 2013 WITH HOME MATCH AGAINST BOWLING GREEN

Flyers Host Falcons Friday at 7, Alunae Reunion Featured at Intermission

DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton volleyball will close out its 2013 season at home Friday against Bowling Green. First serve between the Flyers and Falcons is set for 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at Frericks Center and admission is free. Several Dayton alumnae will be recognized during intermission of the match, including members of the 2003 team - the first Flyers to win an Atlantic 10 Tournament title, first to make a NCAA Tournament appearance and the first team to win a NCAA Tournament match.

Dayton (15-13) was eliminated from the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship by top-seeded Duquesne, 3-1, in the Flyers' semifinal match against the Dukes. It was the program's 14th consecutive appearance in the tournament and it's 17th overall. Senior Shayne Brown was named to the tournament's All-Championship for her play over the squad's two matches.

Bowling Green (14-15) fell in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Mid-American Conference Championship by Northern Illinois, 3-1.

SERIES STUFF
Bowling Green is 13-7 all-time against Dayton but the two programs have not faced each other since 2007, a four-set Flyers victory. The series began in 1976, as Dayton won that contest.

RPI RANKINGS
Dayton heads into Friday's match holding a RPI (Rating Percentage Index) ranking of 112 according to NCAA.com. Bowling Green finished play in 2013 with an 81 RPI ranking out of 332 Division I programs ranked in the RPI.

BATTLING THE BEST
Five of Dayton's losses this season were against teams that were ranked or receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Flyers defeated Saint Mary's (Calif.), 3-2, when the Gaels were receiving votes in the national poll earlier this season.
