DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's basketball team topped the Washington State Cougars 87-76 Sunday afternoon at UD Arena to move to 3-4 on the season. Washington State falls to 5-5. The Flyers extended their home-court winning streak to 16, tied for seventh best in the NCAA with Notre Dame.

The Flyers, who were at home for only the second time this season, were helped tremendously by bench play. The UD bench stepped up with career highs by freshmen Andrijana Cvitkovic (17 points and 11 rebounds) and Celeste Edwards (nine points).

Cvitkovic came into the game with six points all season. She nearly tripled that on Sunday with her first career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Ally Malott scored 15 of her team-high 19 points in the second half and added nine rebounds. Sophomore Amber Deane scored 17 points and hauled in nine boards. Three Flyers scored in double-figures and three players (Hoover, Austria, and Edwards) added nine points.

The UD defense forced Washington State into shooting 28-of-72 (38.9%) from the field and 4-of-17 from the three-point line (23.5%). The Cougars struggled at the foul line converting just 16-of-27 (59.3%) of their free throw attempts.

It was a great shooting day for the Flyers. Dayton shot 27-of-57 (47.4%) from the field, including 8-of-17 from three-point range (47.1%). UD also converted well on its free throws, hitting 25-of-31 (80.6%) on the afternoon.

Dayton dominated the boards (54-31), bench points (32-17) assists (21-11) to come away with the 11-point victory.

Dayton will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 12 p.m. ET as they hit the road to take on the Providence Friars.
