Complete Match Notes
DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team will close out the tournament season portion of its 2013 schedule this weekend by hosting the Flyer Classic Sept. 20-22 at Frericks Center. UD will host Western Kentucky Friday at 7 p.m. in the second of two matches to be held Sept. 20 - Western Michigan and Wright State will square off at 4 p.m.
Saturday's schedule of events includes a neutral-site match between WMU and WKU at 11 a.m. followed by WKU vs. WSU at 5 p.m. Dayton will close out the day with a 7:30 p.m. match against Western Michigan. First serve between UD and WSU will be 2 p.m. on Sunday.
ABOUT THE FLYERS
Dayton (4-5) had an 1-2 outing at the Ameritas Player's Challenge hosted by Nebraska last weekend, Sept. 12-14. The Flyers picked up a thrilling 3-2 win over Saint Mary's (Calif.) on Saturday and fell to then-12th-ranked Nebraska Friday, 3-0, and then-17th-ranked Iowa State, 3-0, on Thursday. Sophomore
Janna Krafka earned her third consecutive all-tournament team honors for her play.
Senior
Megan Campbell is the team's offensive leader, averaging 2.66 kills/set while hitting at a .327 clip. She also serves up a team-best 0.31 aces/set and records 0.95 blocks per frame as well. Sophomore
Jenna Jendryk is the squad's floor general, setting 8.59 assists per game and Krafka gets under 4.62 digs/set as the team's leading passer. At the net, three Flyers are averaging more than one block per set, including team-leader junior
Isolde Hannan at 1.26.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
Dayton will host the Flyer Classic, and the field includes Western Kentucky (6-4), Western Michigan (7-4) and cross-town foe Wright State (5-8). In the Flyers' weekend opener, Dayton will square off against Western Kentucky on Friday at 7 p.m. The Hilltoppers are coming off a 2-1 weekend, with wins against Virginia and UNLV. UD will face Western Michigan on Saturday at 7 p.m. - the Broncos have lost two straight including a loss to then-fifth-ranked Florida. Dayton will play Wright State on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. The Raiders picked up two wins over the weekend against Robert Morris and Indiana State.

THIRD-STRAIGHT TOURNAMENT HONOR FOR KRAFKA
For the third consecutive weekend, sophomore libero
Janna Krafka earned mention on an all-tournament team after being voted to the Nebraska Ameritas Players Challenge All-Tournament Team following the Flyers' 1-2 outing Sept. 12-14. She averaged 4.91 digs/set over the three-match tournament, including a match-high 29 digs in UD's 3-2 win over Saint Mary's.
WE WILL PROTECT THIS NET
In the Flyers' five-set thriller over Saint Mary's (Calif.) on Sept. 14, the team set a new program record for blocks in a match with 22.5 total team blocks. Also a new school record was the 41 assisted blocks the Flyers' tallied in the 3-2 win over the Gaels. Sophomore
Angel Agu recorded a career-high 10 blocks in the contest while senior
Megan Campbell added nine. Sophomore
Jenna Jendryk narrowly missed the elusive triple-double with her career-high 48 assists, 12 digs and nine blocks as well.
CAMPBELL FINALIST FOR SENIOR CLASS AWARD

Megan Campbell has been named to the list of 30 finalists for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
UD PICKED TO WIN THE A-10 CROWN
The defending Atlantic 10 conference volleyball champion Flyers have been unanimously selected as the 2013 Atlantic 10 preseason favorite in a vote conducted among the league's nine head coaches. The Flyers (27-5, 14-0 Atlantic 10) won both the 2012 regular season and the A-10 Championship, their fourth-straight title and fifth in the last six years. The Flyers garnered all nine first-place votes for a point total of 81 in the poll. This was the fourth consecutive year Dayton was picked to finish first in the conference's preseason poll.
KRAFKA EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT ACCOLADES
Sophomore
Janna Krafka was named to the Ohio Baymont Inn Invitational All-Tournament Team following her play at the three-match tournament Sept. 6-7, earning mention on an all-tournament team for the second week in a row. She led the team with 5.56 digs/set over UD's three contests, including a match-high 18 digs against Cincinnati and a team-high 19 digs against Ohio. Krafka has posted double-digit kills in all six matches the Flyers have played so far this season.
FIRST ROUND OF A-10 WEEKLY HONORS INCLUDES CAMPBELL
The Atlantic 10 Conference office announced this season's first round of weekly award winners Sept. 3 and Dayton's senior
Megan Campbell was among the honorees. The Versailles, Ohio, native was named the A-10 Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Flyers to a 2-1 record and the tournament title. Campbell averaged 3.25 kills/set and 4.12 points/set while hitting at a strong .420 clip. She recorded 15 kills and seven blocks in UD's win over Tulsa in the Flyers' season opener. She followed that with two 12-kill performances, including a .522 hitting percentage in a win over Northeastern in which she did not commit an attack error. Campbell also recorded four services aces and 12 total blocks for the weekend. This is the sixth weekly honor for Campbell's career. She has previously been named Offensive Player of the Week twice and has earned three Defensive Player of the Week nods throughout her career.
PROGRAM ON THE RISE
Dayton currently ranks No. 10 in all-time career wins with 984, passing Illinois State and Texas-Arlington during the 2012 season. The Flyers are just 16 wins shy of the 1,000 win mark, which only nine other schools have accomplished in their history. Dayton's program started in 1970.
