WOMEN'S SOCCER DROPS NON-CONFERENCE MATCH TO KENTUCKY

Flyers Lose 3-1 at UK Soccer Complex

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Dayton women's soccer team dropped its third consecutive non-conference match (all three coming against BCS schools), after a 3-1 setback at Kentucky Sunday. The Flyers are now 2-4 on the season, including losses to Tennessee (receiving votes in the NSCAA national poll) and Michigan State.
The Wildcats improve to 4-1-1.  Dayton's losses have come against opponents who are currently a combined 16-4-4.
UK scored two early goals, in the 10th minute by Alex Carter, and in the 24th minute by Zoe Swift. It was Swift's fifth goal of the season. 
The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead into the half.
Stuart Pope scored her fifth goal of the season in the 71st minute to put UK up 3-0.
Sophomore Ashley Campbell scored in the 74th minute to get the Flyers on the board, on an assist from Juliana Libertin. It marked Campbell's third goal of the season. Libertin has a team-high three assists this season and 30 in her career.
UD comes back to Baujan Field for a non-conference match vs. Florida International this Friday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free to all UD women's soccer regular season matches at Baujan Field.
It will be the Flyers' "Kicks for Kids" match. The UD women's soccer team is collaborating with the University of Dayton Department of Health and Sport Science to support their Adapted Physical Activity Program for the community service program which promotes healthy, active living through physical activity for children with a wide range of exceptionalities.

The HSS Department will be collecting donations during the Flyers' Sept. 13 match against Florida International which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Baujan Field. Children from the program will be recognized during the starting lineups. Kicks for Kids collection boxes will be located at both entrances of Baujan Field.

The funds raised will go toward equipment for the UD Adapted Physical Activity Program, which benefits children in the Dayton area who have exceptionalities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Blind and Low Vision, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Developmental Disability (DD), Learning Disabilities (LD), and Physical Disability.
