The University of Dayton women's basketball team takes on George Washington Thursday, Jan. 16 at 9 p.m. at UD Arena in a battle for the top spot in the Atlantic 10. The Flyers and Colonials are two of three A-10 teams that have a perfect conference mark. La Salle (4-0) is the other. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network; the first of four nationally-televised for UD in the regular season. Ed Cohen (play-by-play) and Julianne Viani (analyst) will have the call. The game will also be available via a free audio stream on DaytonFlyers.com through the A-10 Digital Network with Shane White on the call.
Any fan who shows up wearing red will receive one $1 ticket to Thursday's game. Parking is free and seating is general admission. The UD athletics department is encouraging Flyer fans to sit on the bench side for the nationally-televised game. Pom poms will be given to the first 500 fans on the West Side of the arena on the bench side.

- Dayton is on a seven-game winning streak, including five-consecutive wins to close out the non-conference portion of its season, a 91-64 win over A-10 newcomer George Mason in the UD's conference opener, and a 73-58 win over St. Bonaventure in the Flyers' A-10 home opener.
- Dayton registered a 112-85 victory over the Wright State Raiders Jan. 2 at UD Arena. Dayton topped the 100-point mark for the second straight game, also defeating Central Michigan at UD Arena, 102-89 on Dec. 30. It marked the first time since 2009-10 that Dayton scored 100 points twice in one season. It's the first time, since UD became a Division I program in 1984-85 that the Flyers scored 100 points in back-to-back games.

Ally Malott is fifth in the A-10 in scoring with 15.9 ppg and fourth in rebounding with 8.8 rpg. She is one of two players in the conference to be ranked in the top five in scoring and rebounding. The other is VCU's Robyn Parks.

Andrea Hoover is fourth with 17.2 ppg; Malott is fifth with 15.9 ppg;

Cassie Sant is currently shooting 57.1 percent from the field, which is the best in the A-10.

Andrea Hoover's 127 career three-pointers made are eighth all-time at UD. She is eight made threes from moving into seventh all-time.
- Dayton is undefeated (7-0) when leading at the half this season.
- Dayton women's basketball has posted a perfect Graduation Success Rate of 100 over the past four years, one of seven in the nation to do so and also qualify for the NCAA Tournament each of those four years. That exclusive group includes Dayton, Duke, Iowa State, Notre Dame, St. John's, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

The Colonials have a commanding 24-6 lead in the all-time series. However, Dayton has won the last six meetings. UD is 2-12 all-time vs. GW when playing at home. The two teams met twice last year; Dayton defeated George Washington 80-52 at UD Arena on Jan. 24, 2013. They also faced off in the 2013 A-10 Tournament in Philadelphia and UD came away with a 74-49 victory in the A-10 quarterfinal on March 9, 2013.

The Colonials (12-4, 3-0 A-10) are riding an eight-game winning streak. GW has four players who average double-figure scoring: Megan Nipe (18.5 ppg), Danni Jackson (12.5 ppg), Jonquel Jones (12.2 ppg) and Caira Washington (10.8 ppg). Jones (9.8 rpg) and Washington (9.1 rpg) nearly average a double-double. Jackson leads GW in assists with 91. Two of GW's four losses have come against nationally-ranked teams (#21 Georgia and #8 Maryland). The Colonials upset #10 Cal 75-72 on Nov. 15, 2013. George Washington Associate Coach Megan Duffy is a native of Dayton, Ohio and played basketball at Chaminade-Julienne.
