RICHMOND, Va. –
Dyshawn Pierre recorded team highs of 19 points and six rebounds, but the Dayton Flyers fell on the road 73-64 to the Richmond Spiders.
The Flyers dropped to 13-5 overall and 1-2 in the Atlantic 10. It is also Dayton's sixth consecutive loss at the Robins Center.
With the game tied at 63-63, Richmond went on a 6-1 run to eventually pull away.
Richmond held a distinctive advantage at the free throw line. The Spiders, who came into the game shooting 64 percent from the free throw line, shot 32-of-35 (91 percent) at the charity stripe.
51 percent from the field and was impressive at the free throw line as well shooting 15-of-18. UD also out-rebounded Richmond 30-29.
However, Dayton was ice cold from three-point range. The Flyers finished the game 3-of-11 from beyond the arc and hit only one out of nine attempts in the second half.
