Live Stats, Video LinksDAYTON, Ohio - This weekend the University of Dayton volleyball team will complete its three-match homestand with contests against Atlantic 10 foes Fordham and Rhode Island. Friday's match against Fordham will kick off at 7 p.m. and will serve as the squad's Breast Cancer Awareness match - WEAR PINK! Sunday's matinee against Rhode Island will begin at 1 p.m. and both games will be played in Frericks center. By the end of the week, the Flyers will have played three matches in six days and will then head to Eastern Kentucky next Wednesday for a non-conference, mid-week tilt against the Colonels.
Scouting FordhamFordham (1-18, 1-4 A-10) has dropped two-straight matches after picking up its first win of the season on Oct. 4 against La Salle at home. Of the Rams' 18 losses, 14 of them have been in straight sets and Fordham has only won nine total sets all season. The Rams' leading attacker is Lisa Hipp with 2.56 kills/set while the team's primary setter is Abigail Konovodoff with 6.63 assists/set.
Scouting Rhode IslandRhode Island (13-5, 4-1 A-10) is currently enjoying a four-match winning streak after dropping its Atlantic 10 opener at George Washington on Sept. 26. The Rams opened 2014 with an eight-match streak and are 9-1 this season in matches that are decided in three sets. URI is led by Franki Darnold with 4.41 kills/set (1st A-10) while Layne Self is tough at the net, averaging 1.29 blocks/set (2nd A-10).
Series Stuff• Friday's match against Fordham will be the 33rd time these two teams have faced off with Dayton holding the 31-1 advantage in the series. The Flyers and Rams squared off twice last season, Oct. 11 and Oct. 18, with UD picking up a 3-1 win in both matches. The series dates back to Sept. 22, 1995.
• Sunday will be the 39th all-time meeting between Dayton and Rhode Island in a series that dates back to Oct. 14, 1995. The Flyers owns the 28-10 advantage and the two squads split their matches last season. URI picked up a 3-2 win over UD on Oct. 12 and the Flyers defeated the Rams, 3-0, on Oct. 20.

Tim Horsmon is in his sixth season overall, but first since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2014. His record at Dayton is 145-48 and his overall win-loss mark sits at 321-212 in 16 seasons as a head coach.

Alaina Turner leads the team and the Atlantic 10 while ranking fourth nationally with 0.58 service aces/set. She also leads the league and ranks 23rd nationally with 4.90 points/set. Additionally, Turner ranks in the top 20 nationally in four other categories, including third in service aces (46) and third in total attacks (947).

Amber Erhahon ranks second in the conference and 32nd nationally with a .394 hitting percentage. Freshman
Jane Emmenecker ranks first in the A-10 and 27th nationally with 11.05 assists/set while junior
Janna Krafka is first in the A-10 and 35th nationally with 350 digs this season.
• With 1095 team kills, Dayton ranks seventh nationally out of 150 teams ranked by the NCAA. The team also ranks seventh with 1021 team assists and 10th with 130 team service aces.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 10 times (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title eight times (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and have made nine NCAA appearances in program history.
• Over the last five seasons (2010-2014), the Flyers have recorded a 56-8 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2011, posting a 14-1 record that season. So far in 2014, the Flyers are a perfect 4-0 in league action.
RPI RankingsDayton heads into this weekend's match holding a RPI (Rating Percentage Index) ranking of 129 according to ncaa.com. Fordham comes in behind UD at 299 and Rhode Island's RPI sits at 159.
13th to 1,000With two wins at the season-opening Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton has surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,015-565 (.642) over 44 seasons (1970).

Janna Krafka has also passed 1,000 ... career digs. With her 33 digs at the BGSU Hampton Inn Invitational, she reached the 1,000-dig mark for her career. With 1,317 career digs, Krafka now ranks fifth all-time in the UD career record book. She is only 112 digs behind Cathy Wojciechowski (1990-93) who ranks fourth with 1,429 career digs.

Isolde Hannan is moving up the Dayton career assisted blocks list as the top blocker for the Flyers this season. Hannan currently ranks sixth all-time with 414 block assists, just one behind fifth-placed
Megan Campbell (415). So far this season, she has recorded a team-best 70 BAs and is averaging 1.07 total blocks/set (10 solo blocks). Heading into this season, Hannan has recorded three consecutive seasons with 100+ assisted blocks.
Turn Down for WhatAs the team's kills leader, junior
Alaina Turner consistently produces offensively for the Flyers. She ranks second in the Atlantic 10 and 46th nationally with 4.03 kills/set. Turner also pops up in several other categories in the NCAA National Ranking Summary: third in service aces (46), third in total attacks (947), fourth in aces/set (0.58), 15th in total kils (322), 17th in attacks/set (11.84) and 23rd in points/set (4.90).
Consistently AccurateThe team's hitting percentage has improved drastically since the beginning of the season and the Flyers currently rank first in the Atlantic 10, hitting at a .246 clip. Dayton ranks second in the league in assists/set (12.76) and kills/set (13.69).

UD Picked Third in A-10 Preseason PollDayton has been chosen to finish in third place in the Atlantic 10 for 2014. The Flyers, winners of four of the last five A-10 titles, tallied 78 points in voting among the league's head coaches as announced by the conference office Aug. 20. Defending champion Duquesne was selected to win the title, receiving eight first-place votes.
Up NextDayton will have a mid-week, non-conference contest on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Eastern Kentucky. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m. in Richmond, Kentucky, between the Flyers and Colonels. On Saturday, Oct. 25, Dayton will play host to Atlantic 10 foe Saint Louis. The match is set to get underway at 3 p.m. at Frericks Center and admission is free.
