#UDWSOC TAKES ON RICHMOND IN KEY A-10 MATCH

Flyers Play The Spiders On The Road

The University of Dayton women's soccer team (7-8-1, 3-2-0 Atlantic 10) plays at Richmond (8-6-2, 2-1-2 A-10) in its only match of the week on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at Robins Stadium (capacity: 8,700). The Flyers are currently in a four-way tie for second place in the A-10 conference standings. Richmond is in sixth place. The top eight teams will compete in the 2014 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship, which will be held Nov. 6-9 at Dayton's Baujan Field in Dayton, Ohio. 

SERIES INFO
The Flyers lead the all-time series at 9-3-1. Last year, Dayton defeated Richmond 4-0 on Sept. 29 at Baujan Field. Ashley Campbell had a hat trick in the match, while Nicole Waters had two assists. The last time UD played at Richmond, the Flyers lost 1-0 on Oct. 16, 2011. Dayton is 3-2 when playing the Spiders in Richmond.

The Flyers earned their first road win of the season by beating George Mason 3-2 in overtime on Oct. 12. 

SCOUTING RICHMOND
The Spiders are currently 8-6-2 on the season and 2-1-2 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Richmond is 3-1-2 in the past six games, with wins against James Madison, St. Bonaventure, and Davidson. In their most recent outing, the Spiders were defeated 1-0 by George Washington. Richmond has a dynamic scoring offense which averages 1.88 goals per game. Redshirt freshman Meaghan Carrigan leads the scoring attack with 11 goals, placing her third in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Junior midfielder Ashley Reifner is also another major contributor with eight goals and seven assists. She ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 in points. Junior forward Shannon Colligan leads the team and is ranked fourth in the nation with 11 assists. The Spiders are coached by Peter Albright, who is in his 19th season. 

UP NEXT
The Flyers will have a road match at George Washington on Friday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. and close out the regular season with a home match vs. VCU on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 12 p.m.
