RICHMOND, Va. – Junior
Nicole Waters had an assist and scored two goals, including the golden goal on a penalty kick in the 105
th minute of the second overtime, to lead the University of Dayton women's soccer team (8-8-1, 4-2-0 A-10) in a crucial 4-3 double overtime win over Richmond
(8-7-2, 2-2-2 A-10) Saturday night at Robins Stadium.
In an Atlantic 10 match that featured the league's top two scoring offenses, Dayton and Richmond combined for 41 shots (21 for UD).
The Spiders scored first, just 1:43 into the match Meaghan Carrigan scored her 12
th goal of the season.

Ashley Campbell, who also had two assists in the match, scored the equalizer in the 29
th minute. Waters and freshman
Alexis Kiehl set up the score. Richmond's Carrigan struck again about a minute later to give the Spiders a 2-1 lead they held going into halftime.
The Flyers came out fired up and scored two goals less than six minutes into the second half. Redshirt freshman
Libby Leedom scored her first collegiate goal of her career in the 49
th minute with assists from Campbell and
Meghan Blank.
Less than two minutes later Waters scored from Campbell in the 51
st minute to give UD a 3-2 lead.
With just 2:15 remaining in regulation, the Spiders scored to force overtime.
After no score in the first OT, Waters finally put away the game winner in the second overtime in the 105
th minute on a penalty kick. Waters now has eight goals and 12 assists this season and 31 career assists, which movves her to third all-time at Dayton.
UD plays at George Washington on Friday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m., followed by the last regular season match of the season on Sunday, Nov. 2 vs. VCU at Baujan Field at 12 p.m.
