PDF Game Notes
DAYTON --
The University of Dayton football team returns home on Saturday, Nov. 1 when the Valparaiso Crusaders come to town.  Game time at Welcome Stadium is 1 p.m. ET.

Dayton is 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in the Pioneer Football League, while Valparaiso is 2-6 and 0-4 in the PFL.

Both teams are coming off tough losses.  The Flyers fell 40-29 at San Diego in a game that featured six lead changes,  VU's loss at Morehead State's only lead change happened with 17 seconds to go in the game when Morehead edged Valparaiso 48-47.

STREAKING
UD has not been shut out in a school-record 427 straight games, the best such active string in all of college football. The last team to shut out the Flyers was Marshall, 9-0, on Oct. 16, 1976. That is also the all-time FCS record.

SERIES STUFF
• Dayton leads the series 21-2, and has won the last 10 meetings.  UD won 45-20 last year at Valparaiso on Nov. 16 in the 2013 season finale.
• The Flyers shutout Valpo 45-0 in the last meeting in Dayton on Oct. 20, 2012.
• Dayton is 11-1 all-time at Welcome Stadium.

SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
• First-year coach Dave Cecchini brings a strong offensive background to Valparaiso.  An All-American wide receiver at Lehigh, he had successful coaching stops at Harvard, The Citadel and his alma mater.
• Valpo has outscored its opponents in the first (+6) and third (+17) quarters this season, but has been outscored by a combined 66 points in the second and fourth.
• Freshman DB Jarrett Morgan has blocked four kicks this season (all in the last four games).
• Senior QB Ben Lehman is 123 of 216 passing (.569) for 1,467 yards and eight TD's.

GROUND GAINER
• Senior Connor Kacsor became the seventh UD player to reach 1,000 yards in a season with 115 yards at San Diego.
• Kacsor's 1,073 yards so far in 2014 is the fifth-best Flyer single-season total, behind Gary Kosins (1,172), Jermaine Bailey (1,373), Gradlin Pruitt (1,591) and Dave Jones (1,803).
• Kacsor leads the PFL and is second in FCS in rushing per game (153.3).
• He is the only player in FCS this season with three "top twenty" rushing performances -- the year's best 301 yards against Georgetown, the tenth-best effort of 232 yards vs Morehead State, and the 16th best of 213 at Davidson.
• He now has four of the eight Flyer single-game rushing performances of 200 yards or more. (Gary Kosins has two, Dave Jones has one and Jermaine Bailey has one).
• His career 6.5 yards-per-carry average (379 att., 2,463 yds.) is the best in UD history.
