DAYTON, Ohio - In two of its final three road matches this season, the University of Dayton volleyball will be hitting the road for contests at VCU and at Davidson over the weekend. The Flyers are currently enjoying a five-match winning streak and UD has won 14 of its last 15 matches.
Scouting VCUVCU (13-10, 6-3 A-10) has picked up wins in four of its last five matches, including a straight-set sweep of George Washington - the only conference team that has beaten Dayton - on Oct. 19. The Rams' Kalah Jones leads the team with 3.13 kills/set (7th A-10) and Janelle Sykes leads the team with a .343 hitting percentage (5th A-10) and in blocking with 1.24 stuffs/set (2nd A-10).
Scouting DavidsonDavidson (3-16, 1-8 A-10) is currently suffering through a six-match losing streak with the team's last win coming against Saint Louis, 3-2, on Oct. 5. The Wildcats are led by Hannah Rau with 2.80 kills/set, Mogan Shannon with 4.04 digs/set (4th A-10) and Emily Franklin with 1.06 blocks/set.
Series Stuff• In the short history between Dayton and VCU, the two have only squared off five times with the Flyers holding a slim 3-2 advantage. Dayton got past VCU, 3-1, earlier this season and is 1-1 when playing at the Siegel Center.
• This will only be the second meeting between Dayton and Davidson. The Flyers and Wildcats faced off earlier this season with UD claiming a straight-set sweep of DC at home on Oct. 3.

Tim Horsmon is in his sixth season overall, but first since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2014. His record at Dayton is 149-48 and his overall win-loss mark sits at 325-212 in 16 seasons as a head coach.

Amber Erhahon ranks second in the conference and 17th nationally with a .406 hitting percentage. Freshman
Jane Emmenecker ranks second in the A-10 and 32nd nationally with 11.03 assists/set while junior
Janna Krafka is second in the A-10 and 46th nationally with 408 digs this season.
• With 152 team service aces, Dayton ranks 10th nationally out of 150 teams ranked by the NCAA. The team also ranks 15th with 1268 kills and 238.5 blocks, 16th in assists (1,186) and 17th with 1.63 aces/set.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 10 times (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title eight times (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and have made nine NCAA appearances in program history.
• Over the last six seasons (2009-2014), the Flyers have recorded a 73-9 (.890) mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2009 and 2011, posting a 14-1 record both seasons. So far in 2014, the Flyers are 8-1 in league action.
RPI RankingsDayton heads into this week's matches holding a RPI (Rating Percentage Index) ranking of 109, up 22 spots from last week, according to ncaa.com. VCU is ahead of UD, coming in at 81 while Davidson ranks 288.
13th to 1,000With two wins at the season-opening Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton has surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,019-556 (.647) over 44 seasons (1970).

Janna Krafka has also passed 1,000 ... career digs. With her 33 digs at the BGSU Hampton Inn Invitational, she reached the 1,000-dig mark for her career. With 1,375 career digs, Krafka now ranks fifth all-time in the UD career record book. She is only 54 digs behind Cathy Wojciechowski (1990-93) who ranks fourth with 1,429 career digs.
Emmenecker Setting Her Way Into the UD Record BookFreshman setter
Jane Emmenecker passed the 1,000-assist mark during last Saturday's match against Saint Louis. She averages 11.03 assists/set (2nd A-10) and has a total of 1026 assists so far this season. With 1,461 assists in 2006, former Flyer All-American Erin Schroeder holds the fifth-most single-season assists total - Emmenecker needs 435 more assists to break into the UD record book.

Amber Erhahon are two tough blockers to get past. Erhahon is averaging 1.14 blocks/set while Hannan averages 1.12 blocks/set this season and they rank fifth and sixth, respectively, in Atlantic 10 individual standings.

Isolde Hannan is moving up the Dayton career assisted blocks list as the top blocker for the Flyers this season. Hannan currently ranks fifth all-time with 432 block assists, after just recently passing previous fifth-placed former-Flyer
Megan Campbell (415). So far this season, she has recorded a team-best 88 BAs and is averaging 1.12 total blocks/set (11 solo blocks). Heading into this season, Hannan has recorded three consecutive seasons with 100+ total blocks and is just one block off that mark this year.
Turn Down for WhatAs the team's kills leader, junior
Alaina Turner consistently produces offensively for the Flyers. She ranks second in the Atlantic 10 and 44th nationally with 4.10 kills/set. Turner also pops up in several other categories in the NCAA National Ranking Summary: third in service aces (51), fifth in aces/set (0.55), seventh in total attacks (1101), 15th in total kills (381), 18th in attacks/set (11.84) and 22nd in points/set (4.97).
Consistently AccurateThe team's hitting percentage has improved considerably since the beginning of the season and the Flyers currently rank second in the Atlantic 10, hitting at a .247 clip. In other league rankings, Dayton is first in opponent hitting percentage (.165) and digs/set (15.74), second in assists/set (12.75), blocks/set (2.56) and service aces/set (1.63) and third in kills/set (13.63).
Krafka Defensive, Emmenecker Rookie of the WeekJunior libero
Janna Krafka was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week while freshman
Jane Emmenecker was named the league's Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Oct. 27. This is Krafka's third weekly honor and the second time Emmenecker has been recognized this season. A Centerville, Ohio, native, Krafka averaged 4.57 digs per set and tallied 32 total digs in a 2-0 week for the Flyers with wins at Eastern Kentucky and against Saint Louis. Emmenecker posted back-to-back double-doubles in the Flyers' two wins. The setter from Perrysburg, Ohio, averaged 11.71 assists per set and 4.14 digs per set.
