Match Notes

The University of Dayton women's soccer team (5-6-1, 1-0-0 A-10) travels to Philadelphia on Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. to take on Saint Joseph's (7-6-0, 0-2-0 A-10). The Flyers continue their road trip at George Mason (2-7-2, 0-0-2 A-10) on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m.

SCOUTING THE OPPPONENTS
SAINT JOSEPH'S

•    The Hawks are 7-6-0 on the year and 0-2-0 in conference so far. Saint Joseph's has lost three of its last four matches coming into their matchup against the Flyers. In their most recent match the Hawks lost 2-1 to Massachusetts.  Emily Gingrich leads Saint Joseph's in goals (6), points (14), and shots (58). Gingrich also leads the Atlantic 10 in shots, shots per game, and game-winning goals. The Hawks are tied for second in the A-10 with five shutouts. Saint Joseph's went 6-1-0 in the month of September with their only loss coming to Columbia on Sep. 21.

GEORGE MASON
•    George Mason is 2-7-2 overall and 0-0-2 in conference on the year. The Patriots tied Massachusetts and Rhode Island in their previous two matches. George Mason's only two wins this season have come against American University and Appalachian State. The Patriots have had a different player score all eight goals this year. Junior Sydney Mitchell leads George Mason in assists (3) and points (5). Mitchell also ranks sixth in the Atlantic-10 in assists per game. 

THE SERIES 
The Flyers lead the overall series versus Saint Joseph's 14-1-1. Last year Dayton defeated Saint Joseph's 3-2 in Philadelphia on Nov. 3. Nicole Waters, Erin O'Malley and Ashley Campbell scored for UD. The Flyers are 1-1-0 all-time versus George Mason. The Flyers defeated the Patriots 3-0 Oct. 4, 2013. Current junior Megan Herr scored the second goal of the match. 

FLYER FACTS
•    Mike Tucker is entering his 20th season as head coach of the Flyers in 2014. He has an overall record of 287-102-28.
•    UD's home-match winning streak is currently 10 consecutive (including 5-0 this season) at Baujan Field, which is tied for as the fourth best active streak in the nation. 
•    UD has a 30-match (28-0-2) unbeaten streak in home conference games dating back to Oct. 21, 2007, a home 2-1 loss to Charlotte.
•    Dayton is 21st in the nation in average home attendance with 1,095 fans per game. 
•    Nicole Waters is fourth in the nation in career assists per game for active leaders.
•    Alexis Kiehl was recently selected as A-10 Rookie of the Week, the second time she has earned that honor this season.
•    Junior Ashley Campbell leads Dayton in scoring with 17 points (7 goals, 3 assists), followed closely by fellow junior Nicole Waters with 16 points (5 goals, 6 assists).

UP NEXT
The Flyers will host a pair of Atlantic 10 opponents next weekend.  UD hosts La Salle on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Baujan Field. Friday is Dayton's Breast Cancer Awareness match and UD will be wearing pink warmups. There will be a pink pompom give away, and Red Scare will hold a T-shirt give away for UD students. It is also Metro FC Night and several youth teams will be announced at halftime. Finally, the first 150 fans will receive a free official Dayton women's soccer poster featuring the sophomores!
Dayton then will take on Fordham Sunday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at Baujan Field. It will be the #UDWSOC senior day. The first 150 fans will receive a free official Dayton women's soccer poster featuring the seniors!
All Dayton regular season matches at Baujan Field are free admission. There will be T-shirt tosses as well as mini balls for goals scored! There will also be halftime contests and trivia contests.

2014 A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE HELD AT BAUJAN FIELD
The University of Dayton's Baujan Field will be the site of the 2014 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship Nov. 6, 7 & 9.  Call the Dayton Ticket office for your A-10 Championship tickets at 937-229-4423.
- All session passes are $15 each, and single match prices are $6 per adult, $4 per Child (under 18) and Senior Citizens (65 and older).
- No Charge for Atlantic 10 student with ID. Groups of 8 or more (in advance only) tickets are $3 each
