#UDWBB FACES NO. 18 IOWA IN HAWKEYE CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIP

Rematch of Last Season's Overtime Thriller in Championship of the 2013 Hawkeye Challenge

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A rematch of last season's overtime thriller in the championship of the Hawkeye Challenge is set for Saturday in Carver-Hawkeye Arena after the University of Dayton (1-2) defeated University of Tennessee Martin, 78-47, and the Hawkeyes (3-0) downed Pepperdine, 97-68, on Friday in the first round of the Hawkeye Challenge. Tip-off for the Iowa-Dayton game is 8:30 p.m. (ET) tonight. Admission is free.

The game will be available on a free audio webstream on Dayton.Flyers.com via the Atlantic 10 Digital Network with Alex Mikos on the call. The game is also available to view on BTN2Go but you must have a TV provider to watch.

Last year in the championship game, No. 14/16 Dayton overcame a 15-point first-half deficit, but fell at Iowa, 97-93, in overtime. Andrea Hoover led the Flyers with 23 points, in only 24 minutes of action and was named to the Hawkeye Challenge All-Tournament team. Amber Deane, who added 15 points before fouling out near the end of regulation, was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Trailing by 11, 81-70, with 6:45 left to play in regulation, the Flyers climbed out of the hole, eventually tying the contest at 85 apiece following two made free throws from Malott. The Hawkeyes missed their next three three-point shot attempts, allowing the Flyers to take the five-point lead with 32 second left in the game. UI's Ally Disterhoft made both her free throw attempts late and Hawkeye Challenge MVP Samantha Logic drained a three-point shot with nine seconds to go to knot the two teams at 90. A Flyer jumper at the buzzer would not go in, sending the game to overtime. UD struggled to score in the extra period, unable to make a field goal until the fourth minute in as Celeste Edwards knocked in a layup to set the score at 97-93, cutting the UI lead to four. That would prove to be the final margin.
