Championship CentralDAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team eliminated VCU from the 2014 Atlantic Volleyball Championship Saturday evening with its 3-1 (20-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-23) win at Frericks Center. With the win, UD will face the winner of #2 George Washington and #3 Saint Louis in the tournament finals tomorrow at 2 p.m. Junior
Alaina Turner recorded a match-high 17 kills and junior
Jill Loiars added 15 kills for the Flyers in the win.

Jane Emmenecker set 42 assists and senior
Rachel Jones passed 13 digs. Freshman
Amber Erhahon recorded seven kills while also tallying seven blocks.
As a team, UD hit at .288 to VCU's .153 and the Flyers recorded 13 blocks to the Rams' eight.
VCU (17-13) started strong, winning the first set decidedly by a margin of 25-20 but Dayton (27-5) answered with its 25-13 second-set win to even the match. The third set went to the Flyers, 25-17, but the fourth frame was a battle to the end. VCU and UD saw ties at 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 before the Flyers got a kill from junior
Jenna Jendryk to set up match-point. Emmenecker served up an ace to end the set at 25-23 in favor of Dayton as the Flyers claimed the 3-1 match victory.
The Rams were led by Kalah Jones with 16 kills, one of three in double-digit kills for VCU. Rebekah Strange passed a match-high 14 digs.
Dayton will be playing in its 11th A-10 Championship final in the last 12 seasons tomorrow afternoon.
