DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team closed out its 2014 regular season with a hard-fought, 3-2 (25-20, 25-22, 17-25, 13-25, 15-9) win over the visiting Ohio Bobcats Friday night at Frericks Center. Junior Alaina Turner recorded a career-high 30 kills to go with 11 digs for her 18th double-double of the season.

UD's lead was six, 22-16, but OU rallied to within two, 23-21, and held set point once before Hannan scored the winning point with a kill. Dayton picked up the second set, 25-22.
It was Ohio's turn to start strong in the third set, taking the early 6-1 lead over Dayton. The Bobcats stretched their advantage to nine, 23-15, late in the frame and OU held set point at 24-16. Ohio stayed in the match with a 25-17 win in the third set.
Ohio controlled the fourth set from start to finish after going up 3-1 and then taking a 10-4 lead. The Bobcats were up seven, 19-12, before scoring three straight points to pull ahead 10, 22-12. Dayton would score only one more point in the 25-13 set-four loss to Ohio as the Bobcats pulled even with the Flyers for the match, 2-2.
The Flyers scored the first three points of the deciding set and were up 7-3 when the Bobcats called for timeout. Out of the break, Dayton scored two more to cap a 6-0 Flyer run to put UD up, 9-3.
