DAYTON, OH –
Four Flyers scored in double-figures to lead the University of Dayton over the Ole Miss Rebels 78-74 Tuesday night at UD Arena. With the victory, Dayton improves to 10-2 while Ole Miss drops to 8-4. Dayton finished the non-conference portion of their schedule with at least 10 wins for the ninth consecutive season.

Jordan Sibert led UD with 20 points while Dyshawn Pierre added 16 points and six rebounds. Kendall Pollard tallied 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and corralled six rebounds. Kyle Davis scored 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.  Davis also hauled in a career-high seven rebounds.

Darrell Davis scored nine points on a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. He is 10-of-10 from the three over the last three games.

The Flyers had a slow shooting start, connecting on just five of their first 14 shots but managed a 13-10 lead after a Pierre lay-up with 12:55 left in the first half. Dayton pushed the lead out to 16-10 after a D Davis three with 12:32 until halftime as Ole Miss called time-out to regroup.

With UD leading 18-13 with 9:57 remaining until half, Kyle Davis poured in back-to-back three-pointers to spark an 18-7 run over the span of five minutes and 25 seconds, that was capped off by a Darrell Davis three, to give UD a 36-20 lead with 5:08 left until halftime.

Ole Miss finished the half on a 12-5 run as the Flyers led 41-32 as both teams headed to the locker room.

Pollard provided a highlight reel tip-in slam with 12:23 left after a miss by Ryan Bass to give UD a 51-42 lead.  Pollard then swatted a M.J. Rhett jumper out of bounds on the ensuing Ole Miss possession.

The Rebels would come no closer than seven points in the second half until the score was 56-50 after a three-pointer by Jarvis Summers with 9:12 left in the game.

After a free throw by Pollard pushed the Dayton lead to 76-66 with 1:21 remaining, Summers buried a three and then LaDarius White had a dunk to cut UD's lead to just five (76-71) with 27 seconds left. After a Sibert free throw, White made a three to narrow the gap to just three points at 77-74 with 16 seconds left. Pierre made 1-of-2 free throws for UD with 14 seconds left to secure the victory.

The Flyers have now won 12 straight at home.  In addition, UD has won nine of its last 11 games against SEC opponents dating back to 2010.

Dayton is back in action in the Atlantic 10 opener on Saturday as the Flyers take on the Duquesne Dukes. Tip-off from UD Arena is scheduled for 1 pm ET, and the game can be viewed nationally on the NBC Sports Network.
