No. 22 University of Dayton women's basketball (19-5, 12-1 A-10) hosts Saint Joseph's (20-6, 9-4 A-10)
this Sunday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. at UD Arena for its chance at a second consecutive Atlantic 10 Regular Season title. The Flyers can clinch a share of the title with a win today against the only A-10 team that has defeated them this season. UD lost at Saint Joseph's, 75-63, on Sunday, Feb. 26 in Philadelphia. Last season, the Flyers clinched the 2013 A-10 Regular Season title with a 73-66 win over the Hawks at UD Arena on March 3, completing a perfect 14-0 record in conference play. Andrea Hoover scored 13 points in UD's 73-69 win over VCU. She reached over 1,000 points in her career in the victory. She is the 21st UD women's basketball player to reach the milestone and just the ninth player in UD program history to reach the feat in her third season.

Kelley Austria underwent successful surgeries, which included an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and meniscectomy of her right knee on Friday, Feb. 14.

Saint Joseph's leads the all-time series over the Flyers, 13-11. Dayton has won six of the last nine meetings, but Saint Joseph's has won the last two times out. The most recent UD setback was this season at Saint Joseph's. Natasha Cloud had 21 points for the Hawks in that game. The loss broke the Flyers' 23-win streak in A-10 regular season games. Last season UD lost 61-54 to the Hawks in the 2013 Atlantic 10 semifinals. SJU went on to win the A-10 tournament title. UD won the A-10 regular season title, culminating with a 73-66 win over SJU just 10 days before meeting up in the A-10 tournament.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
Saint Joseph's is 20-6 overall and 9-4 in the A-10 , tied for third place in the conference standings. The Hawks average 72.2 ppg with balanced scoring, led by Erin Shield's 15.9 ppg. Sarah Fairbanks adds 13.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg. Natasha Cloud rounds out the Hawks averaging double figure scoring with 12.3 ppg, and leads SJU in rebounding (6.7 rpg) and assists (195). Shields leads the Atlantic 10 and is second in the nation in free throw percentage (.949 – 74-of-78).

Dayton has two more regular season games. Dayton's last home game is its annual Math Day, in which 6,000 area children will attend UD Arena, on Wednesday, Feb. 26 as the Flyers take on Saint Louis at 11 a.m. ET. The meeting is just nine days after the Flyers dealt the Billikens a 90-74 loss on Feb. 17. UD closes out the regular season at George Washington on Saturday, March 1. The A-10 Tournament Championship will be held March 5-9 in Richmond, Va. at the Richmond Coliseum.
