WBB FACES DUKES IN BATTLE OF TOP TWO A-10 TEAMS

First Place Dayton Takes on Second Place Duquesne Saturday In Pittsburgh

The University of Dayton women's basketball team (14-5, 7-1 A-10) plays at Duquesne (
16-7, 8-2 A-10) this Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. ET at the A.J. Palumbo Center. The game will be be available via free audio stream on DaytonFlyers.com through the A-10 Digital Network with Shane White on the call. It is a battle of the top two teams in the Atlantic 10 standings, with the Flyers currently in first place. 

FLYER FACTS

- Dayton junior Andrea Hoover reached the 1,000-point milestone in UD's 73-69 win over VCU on Feb. 5. She is the 21st Flyer to join the club. She went over 1,000 points on a three-point field goal that moved her into sixth place all-time on UD's career three-point field goals made list. She is currently third in the nation in free throw percentage; 93.3 percent (70-of-75). Her missed free throw against VCU broke a streak of 46 consecutive free throws made.

- Freshman Celeste Edwards, current A-10 Rookie of the Week, scored a career-high 18 points in UD's dramatic 73-69 win over VCU Wednesday, Feb. 5 at UD Arena. She hit the game-winning three and had a steal in the final seconds vs. the Rams. In the last four games she is leading Dayton in scoring with 14.5 ppg and has started three of those games. 

- Sophomore Amber Deane, who was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 13-19, returned to action vs VCU after missing games against Saint Joseph's and George Mason with a concussion. 

- Dayton has hit at least one three point shot in 398 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. 

- Dayton went unbeaten at home last season. UD improved its home-court winning streak to 23 with its win over VCU on Feb. 5. UD's streak is the third-longest in the nation. Chatanooga (35) and East Carolina (25) are the top two.

- Head Coach Jim Jabir reached his 200th win at Dayton when the Flyers defeated George Mason 103-81 on Feb. 1 Jabir holds the UD women's basketball program record for coaching wins. He has 421 wins in his career.
SERIES INFO
Duquesne leads the all-time series 18-15 over Dayton. The Flyers have won five of the last six meetings. UD is 4-11 all-time when playing the Dukes in Pittsburgh. In the last meeting, No. 14/15 Dayton overcame a nine-point second half deficit to edge the Dukes 58-57 at UD Arena on Feb. 18, 2013. Andrea Hoover led UD with a game-high 20 points on an efficient 7-of-13 from the field.Kelley Austria had 17 points and five steals, including one at the buzzer under the Duquesne basket to preserve the one-point win, to lift the Flyers. 

SCOUTING DUQUESNE
The Dukes are 16-7 overall and in second place in the Atlantic 10 with an 8-2 conference record. Duquesne features balanced scoring, led by Ragan Moore's 15.8 ppg. Wumi Agunbiade adds 14.9 ppg and April Robinson also averages double figures with 11.4 ppg.
