DAYTON FACES SYRACUSE IN THE NCAA THIRD ROUND
• Looking to make the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in 30 years, the University of Dayton Flyers match up against the No. 3 seed Syracuse Orange in the Third Round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
• The game will be nationally televised on TBS, carried by WHIO Radio and is available with live streaming video, audio and stats at DaytonFlyers.com.
ABOUT SYRACUSE
• The Syracuse Orange (#12 AP, #14 USA Today) earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament and come in with a 28-5 overall record. Syracuse is led by Wooden, Robertson and Naismith Trophy finalists, C.J. Fair (16.6 ppg) and Tyler Ennis (12.8 ppg).
• A Dayton-Syracuse matchup almost took place four months and five days ago. A Baylor buzzer-beater prevented the Orange and the Flyers from playing for the EA Sports Maui Invitational title on Nov. 22. Syarcuse beat Baylor in the finals.
SERIES STUFF
• The series is tied at 1-1. The last time these two programs met was on Nov. 28, 1977 with the Flyers winning at UD Arena, 76-67.
CONQUERING GOLIATH
• UD has been powerful against the power conferences. Dayton is 23-11 in the last seven years against BCS programs.
• Dayton's 23 victories have come against Ole Miss (four times), Georgia Tech, Alabama and Auburn (twice), Ohio State, Boston College, California, North Carolina, Minnesota, Illinois, Louisville, West Virginia, Marquette, Cincinnati, Seton Hall, Wake Forest and Pittsburgh.

BCS BUSTERS
• UD has won its last eight versus the SEC and the last five against the ACC.
FANTASTIC FINISHES
•
Vee Sanford's layup to stun the No. 22/24 Ohio State in the NCAA Second Round is one of three buzzer-beating shots the Flyers have enjoyed this year.
•
Jordan Sibert hit a three to beat IPFW in the regular season opener and
Devin Oliver closed non-conference play by banking in a three to win at Ole Miss in overtime.
LET'S GO DANCING
• UD is looking to make the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1984.
• Dayton is making its 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
• The Flyers have an all-time record of 15-16.
THE POWER OF THREE
• If there was one word to describe the Flyers' success this year, it would be "balance." Dayton is 23-3 this year when three or more players score in double figures.
• When it is two players or less, the Flyers are 1-7.
• Overall, 11 different Flyers have scored in double figures in 2013-14.
FIRE FLYERS
• Dayton is on a roll of late winning 11 of the last 13.
• Wins include at home against Top 50 RPI teams Massachusetts and George Washington, on the road at No. 17 Saint Louis and a neutral site victory over No. 22/24 Ohio State.
THE 'D' BACK IN DAYTON
• In 10 of the last 14 games, Dayton has not allowed an opponent to score 70 or more points.
• During UD's six-game February winning streak, Dayton allowed 62.8 points per game.
• The Flyers are 10-0 this season when limiting opponents to less than 60 points in a game.
