RICHMOND, Va. – The No. 1 seed and 24th ranked University of Dayton women's basketball team (23-7) fell to No. 3 seed Fordham 63-51 in the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship game Sunday at the Richmond Coliseum.
The Rams (25-7) held UD to a season-low 51 points and the Flyers shot just 33.8 percent from the field.
The loss is just the second time UD has lost after leading at the half (16-2). It is also the first time this season Dayton has had just one player score in double figures.
Fordham used balanced scoring with four players scoring in double figures.
Fordham also dominated the boards 48-33.
The 2014 All-Championship team consisted of: VCU's Robyn Parks, Dayton's
Ally Malott and
Andrea Hoover, and Fordham's Erin Rooney and Abigail Corning, who was also named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament.
