MORGANTOWN, W.V. – The University of Dayton men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 defeat at the hands of West Virginia on Saturday in the final exhibition game of the season.

The Mountaineers opened up the scoring in the 7^th minute with a goal by Haydon Bennett, taking a 1-0 lead early on in the first half. They doubled their advantage in the 74^th minute with a goal by Joey Piatczyc.

Dayton got on the scoreboard in the 90^th minute when James Haupt scored with a clutch strike, breaking up the shutout in the final minute.

The Flyers suffered a 2-1 loss to West Virginia, moving to 0-2 in the preseason.

Dayton opens up the regular season with Loyola Chicago on the road on Aug. 30 at 8 p.m.
